Doubt it, we need support for 120Hz at the very least, so segatools might have to be updated.

segatools is fine, but the exe is packed, so it won't launch for now. you can get the game to open using an old exe file, but it crashes soon after booting.

Interestingly, the charts work on the paradise installation, but the songs must be in a new format and are completely garbled. I wonder if there's a way to convert the new format to the old format so we can play the songs on paradise?

chunithm new uses the same audio format but encrypted. the encryption keys are stored in chusanapp.exe which is also encrypted, and if you have a decrypted exe you might as well just play new at that point anyways.

and no there's no way to reasonably crack the audio, it uses 56-bit encryption which while possible to brute-force it'd take weeks with a standard desktop pc. it also doesn't share encryption keys with any other sega games from what i've researched.

your best bet would be to convert the audio from another source then time it to the chart files.

So it's possible to encrypt/convert audio into the old format? I'd be interested in figuring out how to do that. 

I'm mostly interested in figuring out how to play the new songs on the old software as I have a cabinet and I wouldn't be able to upgrade the PC or the monitor in it to the new spec very easily.

Correct, the 7z is the decrypted VHD file. The ones listed above it are the encrypted files. From my understanding,
SDHD_ACA.icf  this goes into the amfs folder like segatools mentions, its contents include: ICF1, ICF2.
ACA_0071.55.01_20210915105953_0.pack = Drivers and other useless things.
SDHD_2.00.01_20210917065431_0.app = Main app file of the game, already decrypted with said 7z file.

If you're speaking of a channel like this, I'm pretty sure they just have access to a real cab, their older Chunithm New! uploads consist of a camera in front of the cabinet's screen (not a direct screen capture), even reflecting other games inside the arcade.

 

Some arcades also have recording set-ups in them which I didn't know, see this short snippet.
