The Linux Loader team is proud to announce the evolution of the Lindbergh Loader.

This new work-in-progress release introduces compatibility with Windows for selected Lindbergh titles, while maintaining full support for Linux.

Our goal is to eventually support all Lindbergh games on Windows, and expand to other Linux-based arcade platforms such as Namco N2/ES1,
Raw Thrills, and other systems across both operating systems. At the same time, we will continue adding new features to improve the overall
experience.

We will follow the same exact model used with the original Lindbergh Loader—meaning it will always remain free and open source, with no DRM,
no online activation, and no shady practices. This makes it an ideal platform for contributors who want to help expand compatibility across
more games and systems.

The first Windows release will support the following Lindbergh titles:

* The House of the Dead 4
* The House of the Dead 4 Special
* Virtua Tennis 3
* After Burner Climax
* Let's Go Jungle
* Let's Go Jungle Special
* Initial D 4 (JAP & EXP)
* Initial D 5 (JAP & EXP)
* Ghost Squad Evolution
* Too Spicy
* And of course, OutRun 2

Although the Windows loader is still in very early stages, it already includes several important features that will help drive future
progress, such as:

* Full integration with the original Lindbergh Loader core
* Shared libraries loading
* Pbuffer implementation
* And more

The pace at which we improve the loader and expand support will largely depend on community feedback and support. We are a very small team
working in our spare time, and all we can promise is to do our best. By support, we don’t just mean optional donations via Patreon—we mean
support in any form. This includes joining the team to help with development, donating hardware, or even creating tutorials and guides to
help others in the community. All of this is greatly appreciated.

For now, the original Lindbergh Loader will continue to be hosted on GitHub. Once we are confident that this new version is stable and free
of major issues, the current repository may be archived.

We are also working on a GUI (currently WIP), as we understand that many Windows users prefer not to rely on command-line tools. At the same
time, this will also be a welcome feature on Linux. As always, the scope of this project will depend heavily on community feedback and
support.

We hope you enjoy this new release, and we welcome any feedback, bug reports, or suggestions.

— The Linux Loader Team

Amazing! Finally, what a great option. ABC never worked properly and never improved with Teknoparrot, and being closed source might have been the main reason for that. So awesome to see such a great project and great sharing philosophy.

Quick tips:

  • To create controls.ini: linuxloader.exe --create controls
  • To create linuxloader.ini: linuxloader.exe --create config
  • To find cleaner lindbergh rom search for lindberghromsbinbatocera on archive.org
  • To extract files from .bin on windows (only if you download dumps from above, if your dumps are already with files you don't need this) use https://www.diskinternals.com/linux-reader/
  • To fix Afterburner ABX01 error:
    • Launch the game adding -t option: linuxloader.exe "D:\Roms\After Burner Climax (1.0 Rev. A) (2006-06-19) (Japan, USA, Export) [Sega Lindbergh Yellow] [TP]\abc" -t
    • Enter "Game Assignments" (Q key), then set "cabinet movement" to OFF
    • Quit menu and close game
    • Relaunch game without -t

ah je crois avoir compris, ton logiciel c'est pour le .bin des jeux et sinon le linux loader c'est tout en ligne de commande?

Hi, amazing news from the arcade emulation front as a real alternative to Teknoparrot.

Unfortunately I have problems to build this project in windows. After starting the windows-Build.bat msys was automatically installed on my computer.

But what are the next steps  in order to start a game?

Hi,

I am also unsuccessfull to install. Multiple errors on downloading and installing.  Tried to edit the script. Went up to cmake but failed in the end.

EDIT:  I just realized I downloaded the wrong files, stupid me!

Those bin files don't seem very clean? I'm getting
"Warning: The ELF you are running is not Clean and might cause unwanted behavior.
         Make sure you ELF and game dump are clean before reporting issues.
         If you are sure the ELF is clean, please report it to us."

Yes I have the same problem, but they are "cleaner" than some of the TP versions I had before which had various patched elf files. I have not yet found perfectly clean elfs matching CRCs. I even tried the eggman's archive from myrient and only disk1 and disk9 are part of all the "dumps" but no disk0, so kind of waste of time. We need to wait for a generous folk to share the real clean builds.

You don't need to build. Get the " linuxloader-win32.zip" from the release page

he already did it

anyway this is an example : linuxloader.exe "D.\roms\After Burner Clima\abc"

if you want to go in test menu add -t at the end

i.e. linuxloader.exe "D.\roms\After Burner Clima\abc" -t

Have you tried it with the Lindbergh isos? Just tried and it did not work.

yes. sorry forgot about that main issue..(

Montavista Linux environment and physical PIC security chip for decryption of game scripts

I do know the Chd and bin files if you can find them are dumped and decrypted ..iso like redump are encrypted.

the only person around that i seen in the past is ,
Jay's Linux and emulator setup does not strictly require the physical hardware chip because the keychip's function can be emulated or bypassed

(keychip" is primarily used to decrypt the frontend.dat file into a mounting script)

 You can try this but I don't think it does ISO's haven't looked into it that well. this was hard enough to find in the past. lol

Jays Download

 Batocera uses python . for decrypted files already.

Thanks, I still got a problem to run the ini. IÂŽve installed linuxloader-win32 into the linuxloader-main folder.

Where has to be put the ini-file with the command line to start the game ? Directly into the game folder or in the linuxloader-main folder?

Thank you for this windows launcher, I've been waiting for it for a long time, great.
It works perfectly..😍

You have to do exactly as (Ducon2016) wrote, create (controls.ini and linuxloader.ini).
For me it works so that I created a .bat file and there you write the path to the game. For example: (linuxloader.exe "D:\Games\Arcade\Lindberght\The House of the Dead 4 (2005)\disk0\elf\hod4Mn_VGA.elf").
I have the bat file located in the folder where the Linuxloader launcher is located.

Not all games work, probably because I don't have clean linbergh games.
We have to wait until someone writes where to download clean games.

Thank you for this great launcher and I'm looking forward to the next versions..👍

you don't need phisical pic to decrypt isos, just correct aes and a vm running ubuntu :

sudo cryptsetup -c aes -s 256 --type plain open disk1.img loop2
