Need help booting the games. I tried the .elf, the .chd and they don't boot and there's a .acgame but PCSX 2 can't find it? I downloaded the bios and had PCSX 2 read them during setup.

Edit: Nevermind figured out have to use the .cmds. Tekken 4 and Tekken 5 Dark resurrection works fine.

 Place the '.acgame' files along with the '.elf' and '.chd' files for each game. When you specify the path to the roms folder in pcsx2x6, it will find them all.

Where exactly do I set this? I tested the other fighters and they seem to be fine including SC3.

EDIT: NM figured out, it was in the acgame file.

All games posted here (and the Tekken pack) worked perfect except Soul Calibur 2: hangs at the "Checking Memory Card" screen. I saw the PCSX2X6 stream and the dev said you need a special memory card because it includes data for conquest mode?

EDIT: Nevermind, it worked but you need to wait like a minute and a half to boot. Oh well.

It boots you just have to wait about 1-2 minutes.

Do I add a line like this? Or replace something?

[game]
name=Soul Calibur 2
gameid=NM00007
[data]
subdir=roms/sc2
elf=boot.elf
dongle=NM00007 SC23, Ver.A10 a025781150426a.ps2
card=ConquestCard.ps2
mediasrc=game.chd
media=DVD
jvsmode=fighting

That worked. But I noticed something when I face Cassandra in the first fight she doesn't attack back. The 2nd opponent does fight back she doesn't for some reason.

not sure what's wrong, I tried every graphic setting (automatic, dx12, dx11, vulkan) but after booting I get only a black screen, am I missing something?

Yeah that's what enabled it for me.

Did you download the bios and enable them?

Yep, both sys246 & sys256, I'm very familiar with the pcsx2 UI but I really have no clue now what's wrong, soul calibur 3 actually boots but after the rom check text i get black screen again... testing on two systems (amd and nvidia gpu), same issue...

EDIT: Got it working through command line

So you are very talented, you have all the answers and you can write here a full exaustive guide to this fork, so nobody needs to put any question in this thread...

I would love to do that, but have had really bad luck running games myself so far with the "Cannot load media" and the boot error screens. I can put some games on the games list. People say try re-editing your .ac files but they look correctly pathed unless I'm missing something.

So far I have dongle files in memcard folder, another copy of dongle files in PCSX/roms/gamename alongside sram, chd, ac and boot.elf. These are off cmpnwl's downloads. I also don't see a pcsx2.ini file to re-edit that.

We need a clear guide where everything goes to run these great games. I'm normally a very busy person so I don't have much quality time for gaming!

My post was about Mr.Hippo's complaint about this thread to become a mess: if someone doesn't know how to run this emulator, it's normal that needs to ask here....

Well, to sum up: can someone give me all the possible links to the dumps that work with PCSX206 and tell me what's missing? Either by private message or here, but in a single post. I'm going to create a dedicated post for the dumps; this thread will then be used for support, which will make things simpler.

in short .. having full set working on pcsx2 arcade requires something like 40+ GB and the only solution is to put it on archive.org because as I wrote above (and someone argued like a good average Italian) having a single thread where you make requests, post links, post dumps, screenshots and so on .. is a mess as it was for the namco 357 thread (closed and managed by moderators as well).

here's whole set :

Do you have a link somewhere or not, or do you upload everything you seem to have somewhere?

I think you're absolutely right, so it definitely needs a detailed tutorial:

BIOS files       Place in: pcsx2/bios
chd file           Place in: pcsx2/rom
boot.elf file     Place in: pcsx2/rom
PS2 file           Place in: pcsx2/memcards
.ACGame file  Place in: pcsx2
Run the game

Remember: The boot.elf file and CHD file must be in the same folder, for example: roms/NM00004 Tekken 4 JAP

1. You must obtain the BIOS files for versions 246 and 256 from elsewhere: r27v1602f.7d, r27v1602f.8g

2. Download the CHD file from the MAME folder, for example, tekken4.chd

For example, search like this:

NM00010 Battle Gear 3=batlgr3
NM00004 Tekken 4=tekken4
NM00019 Tekken 5=tekken51
NM00026 Tekken 5 - Dark Resurrection=tekken5d
NM00048 Fate - Unlimited Codes=acedriv3

Link: https://archive.org/download/MAME_0.225_CHDs_merged

If you want to convert, you need to use chdman.exe. Use this syntax: create a new .txt file with the following content and then rename it to a .bat file:

iso file conver:

for /r %%i in ( *.iso) do chdman createdvd -i "%%i" -o "%%~ni.chd" -hs 2048

img(hdd file) conver:

for /r %%i in (*.img) do chdman createhd -i "%%~fi" -o "%%~dpni.chd" -hs 512

This will give you the chd file.

Download Link: https://archive.org/download/system2x6/Namco System 2X6/

Explanation: If you can directly download the .chd file from the MAME, you can use it directly. If it's not in the MAME but only in another link, then you'll need to convert it. Otherwise, you don't need to convert it at all.

3. You need a boot.elf file. Remember the boot.elf file for each dongle. The files are all different and cannot share the same one.

https://archive.org/download/dongle-files-ps2-namco-arcade-system-2x6

4. You need a dongle file, which is a .ps2 file.

Link: https://archive.org/download/system2x6/Namco System 2X6/

Rename the downloaded dongle .bin file to .ps2.

5. First, create a new .txt file with the following content:

[game]
name=Tekken 4 JAP
gameid=NM00004
[data]
subdir=roms/NM00004 Tekken 4 JAP
elf=boot.elf
dongle=NM00004 TEF1, Ver.D a025671225212a.ps2
card=
mediasrc=tekken4.chd
media=DVD

Finally, rename it to .acgame.

6. Drag and drop the .acgame file onto pcsx2-qtx64-avx2.exe to start the game.

The first time you run it, you must learn to run one game. Then you can operate other games. Do not operate several games at the same time, as it will be very confusing.

how do we create 3.  a boot.elf file. that part im not understanding | NVM i get it now.

@7zxkv I was just explaining to you that I'm trying to create a single giant repo on archive.org with over 40GB of files needed (catalogued in the photo) .. sadly I have few free time and I don't have an upstream bandwidth fast enough to do everything quickly .. anyway it's the way to go

Just a quick note: do not update the PCSX2X6 emulator, or it may no longer be able to read System Namco games.

I did the update by mistake and it changed it to the PCSX2 (PS2) emulator, so had to delete and install again! Do not update via the emulator.

J'ai fait la mise à jour par erreur et elle a changé l'émulateur pour PCSX2 (PS2), j'ai donc dû la désinstaller et la réinstaller ! Ne faites pas la mise à jour via l'émulateur.
