You know, there is no magic: There is only one source of TG existing and it's a poor 720*480 version. Out of this version i made the 1440 * 1080 HD and if you really want a 16/9, you can convert this source to your needs to reach 1920.

Changing the resolution (downgrade) won't change anything it's about the ASPECT RATIO. That means the relation between horizontal and vertical resolution.

4/3 is a 1.33 ratio, TG was drawn this way

16/9 is 1.77.

So the only way to obtain a bigger ratio (that means more horizontal) is either to stretch or to crop as i said. In the first case (stretch) the image is distorted, in the second case, you remove 33%. No one on earth can do something about this.

 

Titan is another story. Basically its 2.35:1 ratio (that means it is a 35mm picture). For those movies, we can approximate to 21/9 (a 2.33 ratio)

So in this case getiing rid of the black bars means that you need to enlarge or stretch vertically, but once again about 33%

 

In both cases, losing one third is a lot. You might lose important part of the action.

 

That said, it's easier to do it from 21/9 to 16/9 than from 4/3 to 16/9 because the action tends to be "centered" horizontally  (but not vertically) on the screen so losing parts on the sides is not always important.

But, as there is a UI, converting Titan is not a simple task. Someday i will replay it and see if it's possible.

New version incoming. Just an update to the front end to allow cobraab rom to launch from command line.

 

For anyone wishing to integrate this into a front end its very easy. In most cases it is just a case of changing the path and exe file.

No it doesn't. You need Singe for making those things. The original roms are real roms, impossible to change.

Hey guys I am having an issue with Daphne and Daphne 4k. The games all launch fine but there is no sound. They both worked previously and I didn't change anything on my computer. The log file says it can't find an audio device. Any ideas how to fix this?

The sound issue seems to occur with some onboard intel graphics on Windows 10. I can't duplicate it right now though so might have been fixed in an update.

I was just testing the games and most of the games are working just fine.

But i have four SInge games that won't start:

Absolutely incredible work LizardKing... a 48 year old arcade veteran now has a big lockdown smile on this face!

I spent way too may 50p's and £1 coins down at arcades in Weymouth on Space Ace and Dragon's Lair despite having a 45 minute train ride from my home to play it!

Have sooooo wanted a 4K version for my 65 inch OLED... thanks again!

thanks lizard king these are amazing loving these converstions , like the post above , i too as a kid used to play this in the arcades when it was working or could afford it.we had a great arcade in southend on sea with most of the games you find in mame, but space ace,dragons lair was rare cos they broke so easy cos the laser disc . we had a sit down corba command aswell down there. keep up the good work mate all the best

Hi. I'm building an emulation PC at the moment, one of the last parts i've always wanted is a Daphne collection and its my current focus.

This forum is the place to be for that of course (like you lot need telling) and i have read and been amazed by the amount of work done here in ripping, scripting, upscaling and sharing these old laserdisc games.

I'm going to thank many of the other contributors shortly on their threads and i do have some questions along the way, but i just wanted to say...

- Star Blazers (Singe 1) by Karis and Famawizard has been added. Starblazer which is just the Japanese version of Galaxy Ranger has been removed to avoid confusion. Star Blazers was in fact in the arcades but only in Japan,

- New reverse uip/down keyboard controls option. This only affects mach 3, galaxy ranger, astron belt, and cobra command. These games used a kind of flight stick in the arcades and up down was reversed. To me, it seemed like a useful option and makes playing these games more logical and playable on a keyboard or joystick. Link updated.

Wow!  I can't even believe how great these look in 4K!   Dude - you are GOD-LIKE for creating and sharing this!  I've been wondering for quite a while if these games would ever be updated somehow to look better on larger screens, and so this is really super-appreciated!   I remember the days of discovering Dragon's Lair at Six Flags, and Space Ace at Show Biz Pizza Place, and I was just in awe of them.  There were people lined up to play these games, and sometimes the cabinets had to be moved further away from other arcade games to give people space to gather around!  I remember sometimes there was even a tv screen ABOVE the game so people could watch from a distance!  LOL!  I've always loved these two the most because there was just nothing like them at the time, and they were just so well done.  They still hold up very well today, and now to see them in 4K, enhanced, and at 60fps is simply amazing!  I love the ability to pause the games at any time, and the 4K versions have such a beautiful, clean picture.  The 60fps versions are also super-smooth looking, and I love having that option to play and experience it that way as well!  Also, thank you for keeping the user-interface clean and friendly, and it's so nice it "just works" without the hassle of any setup!  My Xbox controller seems to work perfectly with zero lag, and the games seem responsive to how they originally controlled, if not better!  I was able to pick up and play and nearly beat both games on my first try.  Speaking of that, is there a command line I can add somewhere to set games to infinite lives?    I remember learning to use the Daphne emulator years ago and it was pretty time-consuming and fairly tricky to get working.  This is just such a nice, neat, package you've created, and it just looks outstanding on my 55 inch 4K OLED.  It's also great that you've included so many other laser disc games to help us compare and appreciate this largely forgotten era.  Thanks again for creating what must be the best existing way to enjoy and experience these classics!

I generally grab content and don't ask anything but I was forced to comment here.... Man, thanks a lot! Your Daphne pack is far away the best I ever seen! I started looking for American Laser Games then found Daphne/Daphne Singe content, then finally Singe 2 content.... first pack I grabbed was essentially CD versions, then I've found DVD restored versions and finally I found yours! Damn.... why I didn't directly found yours!?

I was wondering if anybody here knows how to get bezels to work with daphne4k, I can’t  get rocketlauncher to send the right command line and for some reason it just start the game and exit.

I have all default personalized bezels for my arcade cabinate machine and it would be wonderful to have it also for this

 amazing collection.

I use GameEx too but don't know much about rocketlauncher.and use the in built daphne support and just changed the exe to daphne 4k.exe. Works good.  I expect it does not work with bezels as daphne.exe is launched via daphne 4k.exe.and not directly.
