found out it bug in latest mame, to get rd it , go to sound in mameui under options and change sound output to direct,not auto

Thank you for the file! I would like to go in service menu, but for me, the service button(s) simply does not work. This is why I asked for a preconfigured file, I can just press coin, start-bomb, and shoot. Thanks again

Appreciate your work but too sorry it was configured with a gun in mind, I need it with the crosshair already calibrated for a mouse as I don't have a gun and all I tried to set it up with the TAB key didn't work, couldn't set the mouse to move down only moves left, right, and up, and is very slow but down didn't work for down.

with my files it's configured for wiimote or mouse...it's the same

you need to change input option in mame menu (not service menu of the game) with mouse and not lightgun

Tried this but it only the crosshair is only responsive to keyboard not to the mouse, as you said you had it configured for your wiimote, I tried very hard to make it work with my mouse in System Settings - Input Device Options like you said to no avail can you be son kind and send me the required specific files already set up to just play with my mouse or another full version whatever makes it work for all of us who just want to play with the mouse

il suffit de télécharger la version proposée de mame_area51site4 avant moi par un autre membre pour repartir sur la version non modifiée par moi pour utiliser la souris.

il faudra quand même je pense refaire les "inputs" si cela ne fonctionne pas avec la souris.

je voulais juste redire ici qu'avec la dolphin bar et la wiimote c'est comme si on utilisait une souris.

Going to depend alot on your cpu and how close to full speed your getting

Yeah the only way to reduce the sound stutter is to enable cheats in Mame, press tab while in-game, go to slider controls and bring the main cpu overclocking from 100% down to 23% which slows the game way down. 

 

So it's mute the volume and play the game at normal speed or with smoother sound and painfully slow speed. Either way it's not really playable at this point.

 

As for my cpu, it's old. It's a 7th gen i5 3.0ghz.

 

It's funny how an almost 30 year old game struggles on modern hardware.

Not really maybe with a high end PC, but will still have issues and not full speed, and not in vanilla mame

Hi guys,

 

I have a homemade arcade stick setup with 3 joysticks and multiple buttons. Things were working fine but recently I had to move the computer and I powered off the usb hub that the controllers were plugged into. I was using the "read only" method in the .cfg folder  so Mame remembered my controller setup. When I booted up and tried launching Mame, it crashed and I discovered that something in the .cfg folder was now causing the crash (so, something happened when I unplugged powered off the hub for the arcade stick). I deleted the folder and tried creating a new .cfg by launching a game and setting up the controls, but now I get this (see photo). As you can see, when I try to assign a joystick movement, it populates with a TON of other buttons/controllers and won't let me enter any controllers. I had this problem once before and (stupid me) I didn't write down the solution. Please HELP!

 

Fyi, the sticks and buttons are all detected in Windows 11, I'm getting no errors for the USB controllers in Device Manager and this was working just prior to shutting off the usb hub.

Hi, we can't see your photos very well, but logically, to delete the selected key line, 
you go over it and press DEL or Backend, it's one of the two, 
then the line will be blank and you just have to press the ENTER key and then press your stick or button that you want.

I should've put that I tried that too. As soon as i click, it just populates with all the controllers and buttons at the bottom and won't let me input anything. I included what I hope is a better pic.

Yes, the picture is better ;) It may be displayed at the bottom, 
because the list grows by inserting a button as a choice. Is it impossible to delete the list by pressing "Delete" 
simply by placing yourself on the line without pressing "Enter"? I admit that this is the first time I see this! 
Otherwise you have to find the .ini or .cfg file and delete the list of keys already recorded perhaps

It seems as if all your buttons are pressed and that suddenly it gives you an infinite list of buttons.

 

I don't know how you made your pad, with which and how many USB PCBs, 2x1 player or 1x2 player, 
xinmotek or another brand but it could be a problem with the USB connector or ground.

If it doesn't come from your arcade pad, it's because it's mame that has a problem, try in a new folder to cut/paste all the files of your mame to keep only the executable and the roms folder then launch the executable so that it redoes its entire file folder tree then try to configure again

I did try the delete button, which then displays "none", but like I said, as soon as I hit enter to program a function, all the controls populate at the bottom and I can't enter anything.

It worked before and the only thing I did was unplug the power to the usb hub, so I doubt it's a hardware issue. I have had this happen to me before but I can't remember how I fixed it unfortunately.

I actually tried downloading Mame and installing a seperate, fresh copy. Same problem happened when I tried to program the controls.

UPDATE - I have 3 joysticks. 2 generic and 1 Tron. Without doing any configuration, Mame is using the Tron stick and buttons (for some strange reason). If I unplug Tron, launch a game and hit Tab, the menu just keeps flickering and I can't get into it! So what the hell?

Are you using third-party software like JoyToKey? 
Have you tried plugging in only one pad at a time to see if one is malfunctioning?

I sort of figured it out! It's working properly now and it was 1 of 2 things. I checked device manager and there were 2 unknown devices, so I disabled them. Also, there were 3 keyboards showing, so I disabled the 2 that I didn't recognize. Voila! I can program my controllers again. Not sure which one was the issue and I'm not going to mess around with it.

Good point ;) yes Windows 10 or 11 remembers all the peripherals that are connected to it, 
it had surely created a conflict. Nickel if everything is back to normal
