Are you on Windows 7 or Windows 10 ? It´s weird, are you using only JConfig or RH Loader along with it ?

I'm on Windows 10. First I tried with JConfig only, now with RH Loader... but there's basically no difference.

After every race there is a crash. Errolog always says 'Read from location 00000000 caused an access violation'.

I now tried with a fresh original folder + Jconfig... same problem. I guess I have to give up.

I don´t know if the version of Windows 10 has something to do with the issue, I have an old version of Windows 10. version 1709.

I have heard it works better on Windows 7 or 8 and on early versions of Windows 10, but not sure, maybe the GPU model has to do too with the problem, who knows ?

I know Im going to get some comments for this post but I honestly dont know what Jconfig is. Is it a loader like TP to load games through or what? I keep reading and reading about it but I dont know how to use it or where to download it from. Is there a Jconfig site or something to get it from? Sorry for being so ignorant about this but I want to get Snocross running and this seems like the only way to do it for now. Thanks for Any help😀

Jconfig is an application/tool that let's you play certain arcade games as stand-alone and configure your gamepad, meaning you can play certain games without any loaders/emulators etc. You simply download a Jconfig for a game you want to play from 1cc on Discord (or on this site) and place the required files in the game folder, where the game executable file is. Then you run the Jconfig.exe application and configure your keys/butons etc. And after that you run the game executable to play.

Well, I'm on Win 10 Pro version 1703. GPU is GeForce GTX 1050 Ti. So it's not completely different from some systems SnoCross is working on with less problems, it seems....

yeah.some people are lucky enough to be able to play it without any major  issues, some not so much. Only thing I can say is that it worked much better for me using the All RH Loader, than without.

So I d/l the file on the first page under Jconfig SnoCross_2019_11_18.rar and then extract the files and then place the extracted files in the same folder as the exe and it "should" work?

Ok...so I got the game to run. But....its very hit and miss for me. Sometimes I can play a full track then it crashes back to the desktop and other times it crashes before I can even choose my bike or my upgrades. Any way to fix this problem or am I just stuck with the way it plays??

so here is an update with snocross and jconfig ... i only used it on my win 10 (build 1903)  with NVIDIA GPU and it was really unstable ..some stages were good others were messed up

and it would crash randomly ...and after each race it always crashes ...with the d4d8to9 fix it helped a litlle because it rarely crashes in the menus and the graphics in a lot of areas are better ..

but still lots of messed up stages and crashes randomly at some stages and at the end of each stage it always crashes  ... tried game loader and still the same problems.

so today i tried on my win 7 machine  (Nvidia GPU) .. and i used a fresh copy no fixes applied just the Jconfig files and guess what it plays perfectly fine ... i tried every single stage and played them all to the end and saved my scores and it never crashed ... and almost all graphical glitches r gone ..

only time i saw something wrong was in the Washington track for a coupl eof seconds and thats all .. so i played for at least 30 mins and it was perfect ... so my guess its mainly a win 10 issue.

Thanks. So it seems I'm doomed, as I don't have any Windows 7 machine anymore.

Still strange that some people here can play fine on Windows 10.

You can install Windows 7 in dual boot with Windows 10 on another partition, or run Windows 7 on a virtual machine -

The drawback is that it will take some extra space of your hard disk. If you have VMWare and install Windows 7 x64, maybe it works fine, I didn´t try yet

Today I tried SNOCROSS again in C: rawart, and found that I was wrong yesterday.

The game has random crashes even placed in C:rawart, at least for me, in Windows 10.

I give up trying, there may be many possible causes for it, and I don´t have much time to test, maybe the game needs Windows 7 so as not to crash ?

Yeah, nothing impacts the stability on Win10 (aside from having close to root, else some races won't even start). I'm going to try it on a Win7 VM next (don't want dual boot).

thx for the new version but no go on win 7

now the xinput v1.3 dll is loaded instead of v1.4 -> ok

sv directory is created with all directory Inside that were before in G and H drive-> ok

the original exe is launched -> ok

but an unreal  crash dump is now created (no window, no errors)

may be looking for other users if they have same trouble I have

I'm unable to discuss this on their jconfig channel because 1cc is totally locked for new guys

update : nevermind, after a reboot all is working normally. certainly old ghosted dll in memory

Alguma novidade se alguém está tentando tornar o Snocross estável no Windows 10?

Estou quase pronto para instalar o Windows 7, mas realmente não quero.

É estável no Windows 7 de 64 bits para alguém ou apenas nas versões de 32 bits?

yes for me it runs well with windows 7 64bits

Someone said it crashed in windows 7 on youtube. Some say it works in win 10 (just crashes in Moscow and Washington DC) and some says it crashes after the end of each race in win 10.  You can try it in windows 7 and see if that helps it.

Oh... I just hope it will work on Win 7. Will try installing it later tonight.

Right now it crashes at the end of each race for me on Win 10. So only crashing on some tracks would be a big step forward already.

I tested Star Wars BP on Windows 10 and latest JConfig. Sound works fine, Test mode saves fine, but I have the problem that the game quits after one or two missions.

I have ticked on Windows 8 compatibility mode as adviced. Could this be due to lack of Ram ? Did anyone have a similar issue ?

Try this \Star Wars Battle Pods\Engine\Config\BaseEditor.ini
[UnrealEd.GeneralSettings]
MinimumEditorViewportSizeX=1280
MinimumEditorViewportSizeY=720

I tested Star Wars with the latest Jconfig on windows 7 64 bit
I saw performance better than with Teknoparrot the game is faster and no crashes of the game.
The display in the menus and him also faster than with Teknoparrot
I uncheck High Resolution

I play in 1280 x 720, as I have high resolution ticked on JConfig.

I have some delay in Windows after leaving the game too, but it quits faster than Teknoparrot.

Colorado too. All three of those stages have extremely long loads and crash more often then not. Colorado and Washington also both have a ton of missing gfx too (related?).

The other 4 stages look mostly fine and are mostly stable.

Could be worse, just glad the game is 60% playable vs 0% on Win10.  Hopefully those, the bike select and the post race crashes are isolated and fixed some day.
