If it doesn't come from your arcade pad, it's because it's mame that has a problem, try in a new folder to cut/paste all the files of your mame to keep only the executable and the roms folder then launch the executable so that it redoes its entire file folder tree then try to configure again

It seems as if all your buttons are pressed and that suddenly it gives you an infinite list of buttons. I don't know how you made your pad, with which and how many USB PCBs, 2x1 player or 1x2 player, xinmotek or another brand but it could be a problem with the USB connector or ground.

Ares must be like Mame, it doesn't really support the gpu, so everything is calculated by the processor and therefore it needs a lot of ram. At home too with an i7, 16gb of ram and an nvidia 1050 it's not really fluid or simply it is a preliminary emulation we must wait for other builds

Yes I noticed that the emulation of the Mega LD with Ares requires a lot of RAM, I have 16GB in DDR3 and it's just right, something else must not be running next to it otherwise it ram =) with your 128GB there is no problem :p

Place your game in the Roms folder and try this: Start ares --system Mega LD ".\Roms\Hyperion.mmi" --fullscreen Exit Did you choose the Mega LD bios under Ares? One for the Japanese version and the other for the US in the options? I also unchecked all the different systems that are emulated except the mega LD

Strange for me it starts with the .bat that I put on page 1, your Ares.exe file is at the root of your Arcade folder and your .mmi game is at the root of the Ares folder itself at the root of your Arcade folder? Try this maybe Start ares --system Mega LD ".\ares\Hyperion.mmi" --fullscreen Exit You must respect the capital letters if there are any too

Either you made a mistake in the access path in your .bat file, or you have not configured your folders under Ares, you must show Ares the paths of the bios and roms among other things

For my part, the slowdowns or "freezes" come either from my PC's USB ports or from the HDD which is tired, I tested it on my home arcade machine and it works great

Yes I tested 2 games, hyperion and vajra, only hyperion US works, vajra JAP there is an error and does not launch. Hyperion has freezes surely the emulator not yet hyper developed for this system, I put in opengl 3.2 the video and the sound in SDL

Yes, you can make .bat files for each game, but the best is to make the .ahk module. It will remain roughly the same command line; you probably have to adapt it a little.

I haven't tried "Ares" yet, but I'm going to try it to test the Sega Mega LD (even if I find the games a bit heavy in GB for the gameplay they offer). But like that, I'd say that you just need to find the command line, like: (Run, %Executable% --system MegaLD %RomName%.%RomExtention% --fullscreen) something like that... then the appropriate scripts to exit properly and that's it.

Hi Hippopippo, what version did you use for the "fmod" dlls? I tried all night and I still get the fmod or fmodstudio missing or incompatible errors, so I'm stuck at the logo like I did when I first tried.

It's more because PCSX2 manages CPU and RAM better. The image quality is the same and can even be filtered with PCSX2. Too bad no one has found how to add the Namco system, many of the arcade games of the Namco system are already PS2 games by default of wanting to "insert coin"
