No mate dont touch jvs emulation setup you don't need com0com. I've had some amazing help from 2 awesome users Arcade Maniac and sToOz who were incredible helping get this up and running. I'm in the process of writing up a beginners guide to help everyone cos I went through hell with this lol, so did they. It won't be up till next week but until then YOU MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET to at least start the game otherwise it will close. When it starts get into test menu, you must then hold test button and keep it held throughout calibration. Choose option 5 from the top then option 1 press all your directions etc make sure they all register once done press start and they should all zero then press left + start button to exit the menu then I release test it should go to the game now. I had trouble configuring Xbox 360 pads as I think It doesn't like XINPUT from what the guys said. Dinput I think is what you need, thankfully my Xbox steering wheel worked perfectly apparently slightly different to pads in regards to input standards I use this

To exit the game or if you get a big yellow box with Japanese writing and IO error press ctrl alt and f6 you will go to a dos type command screen you may get asked to put in your details and password then type ps -e and enter this will list process names and numbers, you have to kill both WNM4r process so look for their numbers and type the following replacing my example numbers for yours

 

sudo kill 6310 6311

 

Then press enter this should stop the game, if it doesn't repeat the process you probably got the numbers wrong or miss spelt something like me lol. 

 

Then press ctrl alt F7 to get back to Linux. 

 

When you start the game make sure only one terminal in Linux is open, I'm not sure but I think having multiple terminals open caused me problems. 

 

Hope this helps a bit until the tutorial. 

 

Also your teknoparrot dumb jvs once running from the start.bat should say it's listening in the box including your devices name etc 

 

Also so you know as this messed me up to I run dead heat, Tanktanktank (thanks to Argonlefou) and Wangan 4

I run ubuntu 16.04 64 bit

I tried 17.10 but it but it caused me problems with vmplayer

 

I run vmworkstation  12 Player version 12.5.9 build 7535481

 

I had problems with the latest version 14 due to some error regarding intel vx-r virtualization not being supported by my cpu which is bizarre as its an i7 and has vx-r options in bios so went for this version after having loads of trial an error but it works perfectly

Hope this takes some of the pain out of doing this and at least you know they all work on this setup with these versions

 

One last thing make sure you turn sleep/hibernation and screen lock off in both  OFF in the windows 7 32 bit vm and Linux. It will drive you insane when your racing by keep going to the lock screen mid race lol

I got the same problem as ZX3000GT1, it shows that cannot open audio device surround 51 (No such file or directory). I have already changed the sound mode to analog surround 5.1 output, but the problem also happened. How can i solve this problem?

The red Japanese text at the bottom said that you have to press the Test button to continue or something like that if you didn't know Japanese.

 

Here are the test menu translation (incomplete since I'm trying to learn Japanese):

 

1. Coin Settings

2. Game Settings

3. Event Settings

4. ???

5. (??? Test), probably an input test or something.

6. Monitor Test

7. Sound Test

8. IC Card Test (used to set up a Banapassport card)

9. Network Test

10. Booking (just to show how many times you've played, etc)

11. Back to the game

 

The game's test menu is similar to Mario Kart GPDX's. So you'll be familiar with those settings since the one on Teknoparrot is a Japanese dump.

Jvs has listening my PS3 joystick, but i can't see any connection from the game and got io error.

i using the latest version of vmware and same with you it's not support my cpu to turn on AMD-V.

so i need to reinstall the vmware version 12 right now to fix it ?

Yes mate thats the same issue I had get vmworkstation  12 Player version 12.5.9 build 7535481 the same as mine. Also the game is very picky with controllers i think. I tired 2 direct input ones and my xbox 360 joypads I could not get any of them to connect, also make sure you are connected to the internet

Install libasound2 

1. sudo apt-get install libasound2:i386

2. sudo apt-get install libasound2-plugins:i386

 

Then Go to Sound Settings and change to 5.1 and REBOOT and Make Sure you Plugin Speakers or Headphones before you proceed with the game

Great work Jitterdoomer number 5 must be something like Control/Game Calibration as that is where you do it, once in there you choose option one for wheel and button Calibration

I have a banapass on my Namco Noir Cabinet guys so if anyone has a desire to help with Card emulation I may be able to help. I have spoke with Reaver to see if he needs it for future releases but he has his own. Unfortunately I have heard that he is not interested in this version which is a shame as its nice to get all versions as good as they can be. I think in the future he may work on Wangan 5. Again if anyone wants to try their hand at card emulation for this awesome game let us know. Also im more than happy to compensate for someone to make it for the good of the community

Why, thank you! The first and second option (in the second menu of the first screen) about the IC Card R/W function and the Vender has to leave it on to access the Ghost Battle Mode after using the script to enter that mode. If anybody has the screenshot of all the test menu (because I don't have time to set up Ubuntu and this game), please let me know so that I can translate it for those who don't know Japanese even my Japanese skills are low.

Navigate to System Settings > Software & Updates > Additional Drivers. Attach a screenshot. also confirm if alsamixer is working?

also did you set the permissions of the file WMN4r to executable

Right Click WMN4r > Permissions > Allow Executing File as a Program. and use sudo if not root

The easiest way is go inside the folder you want to execute your game from and right click and open a terminal from there, it will fill in your location for you :-)

Man did you even download Wangan Files. i see you only have WMN4r folder, you need to have game files with updates on top of it with crack! and make sure you are in the Wangan folder where there are game files, Right Click on there and click open terminal and then fire your command sudo ....

Le rival qui file d'un coup n'est pas l'adversaire de la course, c'est souvent le "boss de fin" qui tape l’incruste avant de se barrer pour bien te montrer que t'es encore loin du compte pour le battre (ou plus simplement parce que c'est tiré du manga avec ce perso présent lors de ces événements). Tu peux d'ailleurs arriver à te caler sur sa trajectoire et te faire pousser à des vitesses inatteignables autrement.

 

Ensuite le jeu est tout sauf chiant, le gameplay est top et c'est ce qui se fait de mieux niveau jeu de caisses d'arcade depuis des lustres avec ID. Non seulement toutes les courses sont loin d'être en ligne droite, mais même en ligne droite quand la caisse monte à 340 t'as pas le temps de t'ennuyer. Après forcément si tu regardes un streaming d'un début de partie sans carte avec la caisse mollassonne qui dépasse difficilement les 250, une course sur la wangan toute droite va paraitre ennuyeuse, plus qu'elle l'est réellement en jeu (la seule course vraiment ennuyeuse, c'est la 2e, voiture lente et tout droit).

 

Si tu veux avoir une idée un peu plus précise du jeu, regarde plutôt les vidéos de gars jouant à bon niveau sur la borne avec des caisses maxées, genre SOARS qui semble passer sa vie sur ce jeu ; https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyaT0bb1x9WT0qrAZGCDciA

 

J'ai du mal à comprendre ce qu'il se passe sur ce forum, il y a un certain nombre d'habitués qui passent leur temps à tout critiquer en jugeant à l'emporte pièce, toujours de manière tranchée voire violente, souvent sans assez connaitre ce qu'ils jugent pour pouvoir se permettre de juger, encore moins pour être aussi dédaigneux, et ce souvent gratuitement.
