GodElite Posted December 15, 2025 Posted December 15, 2025 will there be the option of pausing the game and it also shows what treasures we've obtained so far?

I need to check if is possible to see the icons when game is paused, there is no option at this time, planning to add gap adjustment settings between icons. 2

Still, it'll be "nice to have" that $1000 at the end for @Max0011, for this work. 2

Not sure what you are trying to stir up here. If you don't got nothing good to say or to contribute, please ignore me and don't @ me at all. Max0011 Posted December 20, 2025 Author Posted December 20, 2025 Soon I will need free beta testers.... there is so much to do... 😁 6

ducon2016 Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 Really great work. I finally had the time to install it and play it on my setup and it is definitely the best version of all the recent cleaned-up version I have seen. Really good work. I love the low-res option to make the high-scores feel more original and fitting better with the content sharpness. Thanks for that My only beef was with the attract mode showing the controllers and others, so would be nice to have options to disable some screens but not a priority. I am fine, I edited the scripts myself and I am good for now. Thanks again for the great work. Will go try the new beta 4 of dragon's lair 2 now, the first one was missing a script or something when I last tried.
Max0011 Posted January 10 Author Posted January 10 Update: New on this version: - Updated Structure/Framework ( Issues with resetting scores or game to default thought game menu ) - New "Top Players" look. 3

Also are you still making a non-cropped 4:3 version? I'm confused on 4:3 versus 16x9 only.....I play on a 4:3 cabinet usually...it looks like all these newer versions are for widescreen setups only?
Gtguy Posted January 25 Posted January 25 The problem with all the 16:9 versions is that they cut off the top and bottom of the screen to fit it into 16:9. The Dragon's Lair Maximi1ium V2.0 Remix (2024) 4:3 version was posted here, but files apparently no longer available for download.

If he had "hand" corrected and cleaned only 4:3 video frames "individually", he would have had a bunch of users asking why is there no 16:9 version for their funky new monitors. He hand corrected frames, I'll say that again: He hand corrected frames in his own time. HE made the decision to go with 16:9 and dedicated his time to fixing up that version. Then shared his hard work for you guys. If you want 4:3 so bad, then I keenly await YOUR hand cleaned and corrected 4:3 versions so we can all, share delight, and pick them to pieces for not working on our systems. Let's start the clock.... Max, keep doing what you are doing - most of us appreciate you. 2
Hoagie Posted January 25 Posted January 25 Lol, where are the "I hate 4:3 " brigade when you need them. 2
Max0011 Posted January 25 Author Posted January 25 (edited) The old 4:3 remix versions can be found here: https://discord.hypseus.net Is difficult to keep track of all the links specially after updates, I always try to keep them up to date on Discord. Edited January 25 by Max0011 1
Gtguy Posted January 26 Posted January 26 (edited) CharlieChan, no one was asking for a new 4:3 version. Just pointing out there was already a great 4:3 version already by our hero Max0011. In fact, I think the 16:9 version was partially based on the 4:3 version after cropping. Tip search discord for "Special Edition 4:3 resolution games for Hypseus Singe:". Looks like there are even newer verisons than remix 2.0, that are called SE (Special Edition). Edited January 26 by Gtguy 1
Marcoqwerty Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Im sorry @Max0011 is it possible with this pc spec im not able to run smoothy your DL version? Im using this command line: ..\hypseus.exe singe vldp -framefile singe\dragons_lair_se\dragons_lair.txt -script singe\dragons_lair_se\dragons_lair.singe -keymapfile dragons_lair.ini -opengl -fullscreen -bezel dragons_lair.png -volume_nonvldp 13 -volume_vldp 35 Hypseus Singe (v2.11.7) Thank you!
Marcoqwerty Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Still the same, maybe slightly better. Anyway if you have time i've sended the log. hypseus.log
xxOToTOxx Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Try switching the Overlay Resolution to Lo, hit 9 for service menu, go to Extra Options and set Overlay Res to Lo - then use EXIT at the bottom. These videos are quite high bitrate if I recall, if these suggestions don't work you will probably have to try reducing the bitrate and/or resolution of the m2v with ffmpeg if -novsync also doesn't help. There are no magic arguments for resource exhaustion on these hi definition overlays. Also, your log clearly shows you have a corrupt hypinput.ini. If you delete, or rename, the current one, Hypseus will generate a new clean config on its next restart. 1

Marcoqwerty Posted February 10 Posted February 10 Did u plan also to made the EU version of DL? not only the American ones? And How i could disable the scoreboard? Thank you soo much
CharlieChan Posted February 10 Posted February 10 (edited) 13 minutes ago, Marcoqwerty said: Did u plan also to made the EU version of DL? not only the American ones? There are Atari/Sidam versions of DL and SA via Hypseus ROM emulation. Max's games are LUA fan games, if you want a variant I suggest you pick up the task yourself. There is barely any laserdisc media, of any quality, around for those EU games. But you have a LUA framework already to work from. Edited February 10 by CharlieChan 1

CharlieChan Posted February 10 Posted February 10 11 minutes ago, Marcoqwerty said: Yes this is perfect! thank you, but could i use this video with these romset? No completely different video source and completely different FPS (PAL vs NTSC). You need to find the EU PAL Laserdisc footage ripped for Daphne and as I said it's really quite hard to find. 1
Max0011 Posted February 27 Author Posted February 27 Based on RDG2011 Singe Video that was enhanced by HVG, this is a reconstructed version of Ninja Hayate HD upscaled to 2k, frame by frame restored / modified by hand, edited using Filmora 13 to extract frames, Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9 to modify individual frames and video quality restoration using HitPaw video enhancer. I created inserts to preserve as much 4:3 aspect ratio as possible, using Google Gemini, modified by hand to blend with original footage. Level intro. based on Sega Saturn version of the game. I start making the game soon.... 5

Max0011 Posted February 28 Author Posted February 28 Yeah, it can be done by hand, but that's a job for an artist, there are limitations for what I can do, but I think this video is a good base for future restoration.

meekeee Posted April 28 Posted April 28 (edited) I am very late to this thread. I wanted to sincerely thank @Max0011 for his efforts, time, and ...art. A few years ago I have seen a 4K (AI upscaled) version, perhaps a *.iso torrent. I understand this "reconstructed" version is superior albeit with lower resolution. Thanks again. Kind Regards Massi Badlands is perfectly playable in Daphne/Hypseus and is emulated correctly, if you want someone to make an unrealistic "easy" version, for slow people, because you can't play it properly, then it sounds like that should be you - 🤣
Snakkino Posted Wednesday at 03:29 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:29 PM yes i can boot the game, but there should be some sort of hint displayed when the button needs to be pressed?
Hoagie Posted Wednesday at 04:18 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:18 PM 42 minutes ago, Snakkino said: yes i can boot the game, but there should be some sort of hint displayed when the button needs to be pressed? The arcade ROM does not have that feature, you have to time your pushes based on events. You can enable the "Shoot" button via `-preset 1` argument - but this offers no real help - just like the arcade cabinet. It is a hard game to conquer.
