[Emu W.I.P] Namco System 357 emulation working on RPCS3

Namco-System-357-emulation-RPCS3-PC.png

Hi peeps! This is currently something a group of friends and I have been working on for the past month or so. We wanted to see if any other 357/369 games were bootable on the RPCS3 emulator as the only other game that “works” is Taiko No Tatsujin Version Green.

well, here’s Tekken Tag Tournament 2 booting. A lot more work needs to be done but 357 emulation maybe possible. Big thanks to the friends who worked on making this project possible: Brian218 and Backyard Posse!18FECDDB-6C87-4C70-A5AC-4D5B39E7ABC3.jpeg.f40236c08817f2778341b837da65c227.jpegABB5E412-5A9F-45ED-B32F-D5D965ED0DB8.png.4648900c5d9e81e5a23025b87f6b2e2c.png38BF99B3-4282-47BB-B9D0-8901B209283A.jpeg.e8ab628fe03409fb14a7eb5a002cc9d6.jpegF1C5A67B-4492-4FE9-9C8F-54C9C323298C.jpeg.514e672043a2e481477717c3db61bf3e.jpeg

great, cant wait to see time crisis 4 and razing storm arcade versions working.

True! Time Crisis 4 is a Super 256 game however but if I can find a dumped version of Razing Storm, we can try to get it to work. Currently working on getting Tekken 6.0 and Tekken 6 BR to boot although it’s a bit troublesome at the moment…

Indeed

getting rpcs3 arcade games to work certainly depends on the good will

of people that have them to make all of them public

same goes for any game that’s not public

as we saw many times in the past it helped getting them playable faster

I got a few games in my own personal collection that I’ve been meaning to dump for a while now, however it’s the dumping process which is most difficult and frustrating, especially if the game is rare. I’ll look for some ways. Another pain would also be patching stuff like dongle/HDD protection and system checks.

If anyone has any suggestions or dumped 357 games, please let me know. We would like to get 357 emulation running soon so you guys can enjoy the games…

Can you upload for the community the dumps you got

so far?

and if by any chance you can upload tk7r2 ver 4.20 that a lot of people wait for on the game’s thread it would be awesome as well

thanks

alot of ppl is making the choice to try to do this own their own without them because they went back on their word and made it all about money and not the pure love of sharing emulation of these games. so many games haven't been released publicly or the functions to have them running properly for the love of money, this all started out to be given to the community for free if that's the case no one deserves more money than M.A.M.E. some ppl forgot that,so i'm not surprised if no one join forces until we get back to freeware contribution and not pay to play we are kinda a divided community right now and that needs to change

Well

If the main objective is to get more arcade games working at home

things could be done faster with more people working together on the same goal

as for the payment contribution it’s a matter of choice because eventually all games are free for all

true but having a pay 2 play slows things up a bit and when they set goals like "600" paying subs before we consider release brings things to a halt until they are satisfied and want to share so by you always asking ppl to share things that takes forever to be released if Ever released you should understand this better than most but until then the wait continues let's hope it's sooner rather than later

600 goal is long time achieved now it’s even twice more then that and gets higher every day

which makes me happy because people contribution is the way to say thanks and shows appreciation

for their hard work but even before the goals they always worked for getting more games supported etc

as for the dumps when they are public surely it’s only 50% of the way but it’s better then nothing

whether it’s supported afterwards standalone/tp/jc or not

so nothing special if people occasionally ask about it

it’s only natural because people want them preserved and playable at home

A day when dark escape 4d will work at home pc with rpcs3 fork will be a huge achievement💪

imo even bigger then linux based games working on win os

and it’ll enable a lot more arcade games support to come afterwards that considered as “lost”

Really? The Namco system 357 revision A-C and the 369 arcade hardware is based on the PlayStation 3 console. The PlayStation 3 emulator (RPCS3) is the perfect emulator to use and seems to emulate some of those arcade games, it’s just a matter of emulating the I/Os (in this case the Namco H0XX PCB for the JVS games) which is what we’re looking at doing at the moment. Tag 2 did boot into the intro using a modified version of the 357C USIO which was rather interesting, however. With the 357C H050, I only get a white screen. And of course, all of you guys can use the normal RPCS3 emulator to play the games once all this stuff finally works. 065523B9-9E2E-4291-B900-F31BECE32ABF.png.0b275ea3b5807460b9177c4d013be8ee.png6588A570-C0DF-4C1C-B1F2-D40A7B13B0D9.png.f9a6fa89f00706cab67eeaf4bec0b428.pngAE3AF2C8-9E62-4B8F-88B7-685689BC4987.jpeg.2b9836e4ba3a3de90a01417eb5929bf3.jpeg1AE3AF22-DCBD-47B5-BB26-EAC03FCBC5DB.png.c3c5108f21b3a8ebe4fd368e164fb1f3.png5E0AE4FC-EF29-4645-9B9D-037640A8C1DA.png.6bd25e20b172858ce5da3c35c3acd4c1.png

Very cool to see this. Did you implement the missing cellFsArcadeHddSerialNumber call to bypass the serial number checks? I guess that can basically just return the contents of the game's local PS3GAME.DAT (sys 357 games) or the other named DAT which name currently escapes me (sys 369 games) which would allow the checks to pass always?

Indeed
AA+TS were tremendous achievements

I hope the next 2 would be JP(2015)+TWD as for rpcs3 fork

it would have been nice to know if it’s still worked on or postpone for now
