Thanks for your reply. I could finally manage to get the Mame special build from a Discord channel. It is an exe called "mame adc fix". If anyone is interested in it, I can share it, it works fine.

Unfortunately the game runs so slowly on my low end PC that is almost unplayable. It seems Mame needs a beefy hardware for this game to run at full speed !

Ridge Racer Three Monitor Version with many improvements on this special Mame build.

 

Bonus

You can now play with both the Digital Pad and the Left Analog Stick instead of just the Analog Stick. Both work at the same time, so you can use the Left Analog Stick to go through the menus before the race and then use the Digital Pad for the tighter controls during the race. Also, along with pressing 5 on the keyboard to add credits, you can now just push the back button on your controller to add credits as well.

MAME 0.288 was released on May 29, 2026. Here’s a summary of the main new features and changes:

Major Project Changes

  • Migration to C++20.
  • Increased system requirements:
    • Windows 10 or newer is now mandatory.
    • Windows x64 builds are now compiled with Clang (UCRT + libc++) for better consistency with Arm64 builds.
  • Major cleanup of old code (removal of obsolete back-ends, SysV support, etc.).

Important Update on Release Schedule:

Starting after version 0.287, the MAME team has changed their release policy:

  • They are no longer releasing every month.
  • Releases will now be less frequent (longer development cycles).
  • They already skipped April 2026 (no 0.288 in April).
  • Version 0.288 came out on May 29, 2026.

It is currently unclear exactly when 0.289 will be released. It could be in July, August, or even later, depending on the team's progress.

This change was made to allow more time for bigger improvements and better code quality.

 

I hope you don't have a MAMECAB with a windows 7 OS anymore ! I know a few people who have this problem, bad news for them...

So for those who still have WINDOWS 7 OS, only 0.287 and lower versions will be compatible.

Even if the mame dev team has decided to migrate to c++ 20 and therefore support the libraries from win10 onwards, it is relatively easy to continue compiling the versions for windows 7 (x64) ..

but this is beyond my plans because I prefer to use the libc++ libraries which are more stable and performant under windows 10+

For Ketsui: Kizuna Jigoku Tachi (IKD 2007 Special), it doesn’t appear in MAME’s game list, and when I try to launch it from a frontend, nothing loads. Does anyone know why this happens or how to get it working?
