Battle Gear 4 Tuned I finaly got this game to work! All along it was just use service button for coins, Also forgot it needs a network too. Then got into test menu and switched it to freeplay. Problem I have is how do you setup manual transmission?? Got red xs on them. Also pro mode is selected in TP and my Config.bin is in openparrot folder in the game folder but all tracks are NOT open. Moved the shifter and it went to test mode? Can anyone explain all the controls on this game hazzard , sidebrake, Key?? I cant get FFB to work either yet? Is the whole game assisted braking??? Help please if you have some free time available. I hate that assisted braking! Latest TP 5.27

Hi, very strange for the missing tracks. When I first played to that game, the config.bin just needed to be in the game folder to have all tracks unlocks. Then few months ago, after a TP update, they disappeared ! So I asked here what to do and someone told me the config.bin needed to be placed in the openparrot folder so that's what I did and the tracks went back ! So I really dont get why you don't have them ?

For manual transmission I don't know but in the menu you can choose accelerator only or accelerator+brakes driving option. FFB is working for me but not really effective, some effects are still missing.

You can still select manual transmission even with the red x on them. Someone edited files to remove the red x's but not sure where link has gone now

 

You need to select the correct option too. Far left is automatic without assist braking and i think far right was manual without assist braking

There's something I just can't understand concerning Batlle Gear 4 Tuned!

 

1 - If I set it for JConfig, I can have it fullscreen launching "gameM.exe _MTS_FULL_SCREEN_.bat" that in fact does "game.exe _MTS_FULL_SCREEN_"

2 - If I set it for TeknoParrot, it launches full screen the first time, ask for I/O calibration and close once it's done. Game is launching fine after that but only windowed!

3 - JConfig or TeknoParrot I can't make dgvoodoo HD patch to work! Game is crashing at video intro or at start race if you skip intro. Patch is working on Battle Gear 4 however! Even tried dgvoodoo files for BG4 and gave me same result. I use dgvoodoo for Arcana Heart 2 too (using D3D12 or I was having blank background) and for Cars too (was having a green or pink screen if it wasn't set to D3D12), surprising point is that BG4 patch works as it, using an older dgvoodoo without D3D12.

 

So please, how the hell do you launch it fullscreen using TeknoParrot please? Borderless Gaming didn't solved issue (game is fullscreen but is only about a little square at the top left). I am having the same dgvoodoo issue on Chase HQ2 too, whatever I try (dgvoodoo and DLL versions, settings). Does anyone have any idea why it doesn't works please?

I couldn't believe now we have a fuctioning NESYS server for Battle Gear 4.

I've tried it (although admittedly right now I'm using my other laptop, which is not powerful enough for running the game at 60 FPS, settling for 45-50 instead, so pretty much slowdown city), and it's great. Actually able to customize your car and battling (I assume real people) ghosts is really cool. Can you do online races here too?

BTW, can I host my own server with this? Maybe at one point I would love to set up my own personal server with several PCs and Laptops for LAN play. I know you can link the real cabs (I saw up to 4 cabs linked in real life myself), but I would love a centralized server with profiles support.

did you get normal battle gear 4 working ok ? i have a twin cab and one side has gone down so im trying to get it back up and running. any pointers on what i need to do with these game files etc ?

I have an issue where accel pedal is always turned on, i checked on the io test on the battle gear 4 tuned test menu.. anyone know how to fix?  I have tried removing all binds but it is still pressed all the way. I use logitech g29 as my wheel

 

edit: nvm i just redownloaded teknoparrot and added the shift fix patch and it somehow fixed itself

Ok so i have managed to replace the typex+ pc in my twin cab with something much more modern and have gotten everything working apart from the surround sound, does anybody know why i can only set stereo in windows? 5.1 causes the game to not run yet if you drop into a windows shell on the original cab that is also set to stereo ? I think the game itself is dealing with the audio processing maybe ?

 

anybody have any info ?

I am using TP 597, the game I/O totally different with TP setting..here I attached what I got after tested..do you guys have same issue here?
Jconfig setting better but I still prefer TP

I have the same problem and ended up to the same correction.

Also it does not seem possible any more to use Dgvoodoo for hi res gaming;

Neither of these 2 problems exist for Battle Gear 4, only for Battle Gear 4 Tuned.

Does anyone know what is the issue? Is there an old TP version which allows solving this?

 

EDIT: With TP140, it works again but key is not available. Does anyone has a rather recent TP which would work fully?

EDIT2: For the key to work, you have to use NESYS Revival Project

On a side note, computer opponents are really slow, even at level 10. Is it the same for you?

EDIT: May be due to TP140, I painfully managed to launch a game with TP618 and it was much tougher.

Thanks to everything involved and the posts in this thread I have the game working. Thank you to all.

My only issue is around controls in the menu. The selection of cars, tracks, etc is as if someone is holding the steering wheel to one side. It scrolls through really fast and it is a lucky dip over what will be selected.

In game drives fine.

I have tried xinput and direct input, two different controllers and lots of experimenting with button mapping. Always the same. TP is version 1.0.0643, fully updated. Game is Trymado's TP version from the first post.

I think I've isolated it. If you put the game in free play in the test menu, it ruins the shift up controls. In the I/O test screen, pressing shift up triggers about half of the other controls.

I just wanted to update the software to BG4 Tuned but I have tried the 2.08 here and the buttons and volume on the cab do not work with this install

 

Has anyone had any success to install this to their BG4 cab, and if so, what am I doing wrong?

Trying to emulate this title in a Linux distribution (Ubuntu + Wine 6) without results.

 

I got several downloads of the game files, all them without the Jconfig or TTX_loader files except the lnked by @Tremolux; tried this one, but still without results...

 

any help? I got many other titles emulated in the same system (Raiden III and IV, SF IV, KOF XIII, and some others... ).
