  3. 🎯 Blood Storm: Alien Purge (Steam, 2025) – Full On-Rails Shooter Playthrough | RS3 Lightgun Gameplay

    Entertainment - Started by ,

The aliens are here—and they’re bullet sponges. Welcome to Bloodstorm: Alien Purge!

Built in Unreal Engine 5 by solo dev Firm-Recipe-703, Bloodstorm is a gritty, over-the-top on-rails shooter packed with mutants, aliens, gore, and nonstop action. If you grew up on House of the Dead, Time Crisis, or Virtua Cop—this is your kind of chaos.

On paper, Bloodstorm: Alien Purge is a first-person on-rails shooter from Nicholas Games. You’re an FBA agent sent to investigate a Nevada facility and end up knee-deep in aliens, cyber-zombies, and government weirdness. The campaign runs ~40 minutes, built for replay, with 17 Steam achievements and multiple subtitle languages. It’s low-priced, single-player, and very pick-up-and-blast. Plays great with mouse—and with lightguns that emulate a mouse, like my setup.

The Steam page leans into deliberate difficulty: enemies have chunky health and hide weak-spots; precision shot timing + reload management are the path to mastery. If you’re here for House Of The Dea vibes with modern 3D grit and a bit of B-movie cringe, this scratches the itch.

My take after a full clear: gunfeel is satisfying, the pacing keeps you moving, and the jank somehow adds to the charm. I did hit a few crashes and some texture pop-ins, but I was able to bind all controls directly to my RS3 Reaper lightguns with no issue. The whole run played out arcade-style and that alone made the experience way more authentic and fun.

Editing my Bloodstorm – Alien Purge playthrough I caught a legendary single frame: the antagonist spawns before his clothes and hair textures render. Behold—the Tactical Birthday Suit Collection™ DLC! This game is magnifique jank: crashes, pop-ins, bullet-sponge mutants… and I still had a blast. Dollar-store arcade chaos in the best way.

Developer Firm-Recipe-703, thank you for this contribution to the lightgun gaming community! I salute you!
  4. 🎯 Skyward Blast (itch.io) – Steampunk Magic Rail Shooter | RS3 Reaper Lightgun Gameplay

    Entertainment - Started by ,

Skyward Blast is a fast-paced steampunk on-rails shooter created by Litos and collaborators Carlos del Aguila, RubGuty, Chiara Magnani, David Flores, and Apagon. In this magical aerial skirmish, you're ambushed by steam-powered robot sky pirates—and your survival depends on conjuring powerful magic projectiles, unleashing devastating energy shockwaves, and timing perfect parries with your magic barrier. The goal? Dominate the skies and earn that coveted S+ rank.

Controls are elegantly arcade-simple, yet demand mastery: left-click to shoot (hold for a charged blast), 'R' to reload (press again when aligned for a quick reload), right-click to parry incoming attacks—successful parries fill your Q-gauge, letting you unleash a sweeping energy wave. (I used reWASD to remap the controls to my guns.

I played this one on itch.io using my RS3 Reaper lightguns. The physical feel of firing and reloading your magical arsenal adds cinematic weight to each encounter.
  5. 🎯 Warehouse Target (Retro Shooter Console) | RS3 Reaper Lightgun Gameplay

    Entertainment - Started by ,

Warehouse Target is an exciting accuracy-based lightgun target shooter built specifically for the Retro Shooter RS Console ─ designed to plug straight in with RS3 Reaper lightguns. It’s a clean, precision-focused challenge that tests your aim in a warehouse-style setting.   I fired this up using my RS3 Reapers, and the responsiveness is phenomenal—the tracking, recoil feedback, and pinpoint accuracy bring a real arcade feel to the experience.   Warehouse Target was released after Christmas as one of the initial plug-and-play games on the Retro Shooter console, featuring simple target zones that challenge your speed and marksmanship. The RS Console doesn’t support retro game emulation—it’s a purpose-built lightgun title platform designed to deliver new and original shooting experiences.   With 24V solenoid recoil, rapid high-speed tracking, customizable LED lighting, and Mamehooker integration—my RS3 Reapers made hitting tiny targets feel smooth and satisfying. It’s easily one of the best ways to enjoy target shooting as close to an arcade setup at home.
  6. 🎯 Robin Hood (ICE Arcade Redemption Game) – Medieval Crossbow Shooter | RS3 Reaper Playthrough

    Entertainment - Started by ,

Robin Hood is a fast-paced redemption shooting game by ICE (Innovative Concepts in Entertainment), originally released around 2009–2010. Step into the legendary folklore hero’s shoes and wield a full-sized crossbow controller to aim at moving targets and treasure chests—to win tickets in classic arcade style.
The action kicks off with players targeting bullseyes to rack up points. At the end of the timer, you can either collect your tickets or risk half of them in the thrilling “Super Bonus Round.” Nail a perfectly placed shot that splits an apple, and the ticket rewards skyrocket.
The cabinet itself is a showstopper—built from sturdy laminated plywood, featuring a 32″ horizontal LCD, vibrant bonus marquee lights, and a realistic crossbow controller that draws players in from across the arcade.
I played this medieval shooter using my RS3 Reaper lightgun for a modern twist on classic redemption gameplay. Huge thanks to Argonlefou for making this gem playable!
  7. 🎯 Kitchen Shooter (PICO-8) – Full Playthrough | Indie Rail Shooter Game

    Entertainment - Started by ,

Kitchen Shooter is a quirky on-rails shooter made in PICO-8 for the Grill Game Jam 2023. Instead of blasting aliens or robots, you’re stuck with a much nastier problem: cockroaches invading your kitchen. With a hygiene inspector on the way, you’ve only got five minutes to clean house—or risk your restaurant going down in flames.
The game uses simple but satisfying mechanics. You control everything with your mouse—aim and shoot with the left button, reload with the right. For this playthrough, I went one step further and used my RS3 Reaper lightguns, which makes it feel just like a classic arcade rail shooter experience.
The soundtrack is absolutely a delight. If you’ve got a subwoofer, be sure to turn it on—this tune has a beat that punches right through and makes the action even more fun.
Originally released in 2023, the game has since been updated to version 1.1 and is available across multiple platforms, including Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and browser-based HTML5. It’s lightweight, accessible, and full of charm, making it a fun pick-up-and-play shooter that anyone can dive into.

    🔹🔷 Behind the Game 🔷🔹
    ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖
Kitchen Shooter was developed by PBeS Studio, and it wouldn’t look nearly as good without the stunning pixel art of Emiliane Bernuzzi. Her playful, colorful style gives the game its charm and makes exterminating pests feel more fun than gross.
  8. ⭐ Space Berserker – Sega Mega-LD LaserActive FMV Rail Shooter Longplay (1993 Pioneer) Ares Emulator

    Entertainment - Started by ,

Space Berserker is a Japan-exclusive full-motion video (FMV) rail shooter for Pioneer’s LaserActive, running on the Sega Mega-LD PAC. Developed by Den’no Shokai / Hary & Company and published by Pioneer LDC, it never appeared as a standard Mega Drive/Genesis cartridge. Most sources place its release in 1993 (with some listings noting early 1994 in Japan).

From a first-person cockpit view, you fly a Valkyrie-class attack craft along fixed paths while FMV backdrops roll and a Genesis-style HUD overlays targets, damage cues, and comms windows. The result is a hybrid of laserdisc cinematics and simple, arcade-style shooting—short, flashy, and very LaserActive.

Gameplay & Mechanics: the B button fires a slow-reloading ship cannon that can down enemies, the C button fires a rapid laser that clears incoming projectiles but won’t damage ships, and the A button launches a special missile—only available at the end of Levels 2 and 3. Between waves, story intermissions and in-mission video calls add context and pacing.

The campaign spans three brief missions: initial fighter engagements, a first mothership strike, then a tougher reprise culminating in a second mothership battle. Even with a death/respawn, total playtime hovers around 20 minutes—light on depth, strong on ’90s FMV vibes.

The game was played on a special fork of the Ares emulator.
  9. ⭐ Pyramid Patrol (LaserActive Mega-LD, 1993) – FMV Rail Shooter Longplay

    Entertainment - Started by ,

Pyramid Patrol is a 1993 Mega-LD FMV rail shooter for the Pioneer LaserActive with the Sega PAC module. It was developed by High-Tech Lab Japan, published by Taito via Pioneer, and released on August 20, 1993 (JP) and December 23, 1993 (US).

Set in 2035, the game follows your spacecraft as it navigates a Martian pyramid built by the lost civilization of Mu. Gameplay unfolds in first-person cockpit view, with the surroundings presented via full-screen LaserDisc video and a Genesis-style overlay for targeting and UI.

You move crosshairs on a fixed rail while firing at enemies. The A button unleashes a weak, continuous stream of bullets; holding B charges a stronger shot (though it's slow to release). Bosses, unlike regular enemies, are embedded into the FMV footage itself—not overlayed—creating seamless transitions between gameplay and narrative.

The visuals are flashy, but gameplay is shallow and brief. Critics liken it to an arcade-style demo you might play while waiting—for example, at a pizzeria—before diving into dinner. While it's seen as the strongest of the three Sega PAC launch titles, its charm lies mostly in its polished laserdisc presentation, not its mechanics.

It is the sequel to The House of the Dead and the second game overall in the House of the Dead series. This game was first announced in September 2019.

  12. Real Fire 2 (真人火线2) Rare 2012 FMV Rail Shooter

Rediscover Real Fire 2 (真人火线2), a rare 2012 FMV rail shooter developed by AGLab — likely a branch of Shantou University’s Anime & Game Laboratory — and published by gamesgrow.com. This Flash-based live-action arcade shooter blends cinematic FMV missions with classic point-and-shoot gameplay. Played here with RS3 Reaper lightguns for an authentic arcade feel. This isn’t your typical browser shooter—Real Fire 2 feels like an old-school arcade cabinet experience.

    The game features:
Live-action FMV missions with an action-movie feel. Quick target acquisition & split-second reaction challenges. Score-based gameplay between cinematic cutscenes. Mouse-only controls that adapt perfectly to RS3 Reaper lightguns.
Real Fire 2 captures the style of late 90s FMV shooters with the charm (and grit) of the Flash era. Originally hosted on gamesgrow.com, this obscure title now lives on thanks to game preservation efforts.

This title is one of the few known FMV rail shooters produced by a university game lab in China. Originally released as a Flash browser game in 2012 via gamesgrow.com, Real Fire 2 is no longer officially hosted due to the discontinuation of Adobe Flash Player. It can still be preserved and played via Flash emulation projects.

The aliens are here—and they’re bullet sponges.

    Welcome to Bloodstorm: Alien Purge!

Built in Unreal Engine 5 by solo dev Firm-Recipe-703, Bloodstorm is a gritty, over-the-top on-rails shooter packed with mutants, gore, and nonstop action. If you grew up on House of the Dead, Time Crisis, or Virtua Cop—this is your kind of chaos.

I played through the demo using my RS3 Reaper lightguns from RetroShooter. Everything worked great but I couldn’t map the weapon-swap button to the gun, so I had to use the mouse scroll button to switch weapons. Despite some minor graphical pop-ins from asset streaming, I had a blast. The enemies are real damage sponges, but the gameplay delivers the B-movie energy promised. I never encountered any bugs. You can tell this is a passion project—a real labor of love for the genre. I can’t wait to buy the full game and run through it start to finish.

Zombie Face Ripper is a short but intense horror-themed rail shooter from the Flash era, developed by Box10. The first-person perspective and timed reloads give it a satisfying arcade feel.

Originally built for Adobe Flash, this game is no longer playable in most modern browsers. Thankfully, it’s been preserved across sites like FlashMuseum, KBHGames, and GamesFlow. Some even offer a hacked “God Mode” version for a more casual run.

Test Emulator Game - Started by ,

Area 51: Site 4 is the explosive 1998 sequel to the original Area 51, developed by Mesa Logic and Atari Games. This full motion video (FMV) rail shooter blends digitized enemies and live-action backgrounds for that unmistakable 90s arcade vibe.

In this video, I take you through the entire game, including both endings and every secret room, running it on MAME with custom tweaks to improve performance. While some minor imperfections remain, the game is now fully playable with proper CPU timing and a modified MAME build.

Played with my RS3 Reaper Lightguns from RetroShooter, this is as close as you’ll get to the real arcade experience from home.

    I’ve brought the aliens back.

This is a faithful recreation of the original promotional VHS trailer for Area 51: Site 4—restored using footage captured during my recent full playthrough. The quality and intensity of this remaster were made possible thanks to the raw game footage, the hard work of the Mame emulator developers, and a whole lot of editing passion.

Atari’s forgotten follow-up to Area 51 gets the spotlight it deserves. The military’s worst nightmare continues—faster, stronger, and deadlier than ever. In Site 4, you’re dropped into training missions and full-on alien Armageddon. Repel zombie invaders, clear UFO attacks, and battle your way through the underground labs all the way to the Alien Queen herself.

    💥 Wall-to-wall cinematic lightgun chaos.
    🧟‍♂️ Callbacks to Missile Command.
🎯 Cool powerups and secret rooms.
📼 VHS-style narration and pacing, recreated from the original promo.

Whether you remember this game or you’re just discovering it now, this trailer remaster is for the fans of arcade shooters, VHS nostalgia, and that raw Atari intensity.

     Boot camp begins now.
