About this version:

 

Based on Karis Space Ace work for Singe, this is the Blu-ray version of Space Ace, upscaled and enhanced using HitPaw video enhancer.

Some scenes have been restored / modified by hand, frame by frame using Wondershare Filmora 13 to extract frames, Jasc Paint Shop Pro 9

to edit frames manually, is a free program I have been using for over 20 years, that’s how I crop, layer, copy and paste pieces together.

 

 

This version of Space Ace plays like Dragon’s Lair, no play modes (Cadet, Captain or Ace), instead 
you be playing the entire game without level repetition.

Tier and Bar mode compatible.

 

Difficulty:

    • Easy: no mirror levels.
    • Normal: Dexter decisions during the game will determine if next level is normal or mirror.
    • Hard: only mirror levels will play.
    • Extreme: Like normal level - It disables “Show Moves”.

 

Each level must be completed to reach next level, some of them are broken into scenes.

New on this version:

 

- Updated Structure/Framework ( Issues with resetting scores or game to default thought game menu )

- New "Top Players" look.

I preferred the old look, same for Dragon's lair. I personally recentered the text at the top and raised everything a bit so that there is more space with the "Insert Coin" for my version. And I modified it so that the attract mode just alternates between video and high scores. The controls screen showing a keyboard/gamepad broke the "arcade" feeling".

The only thing I wasn't happy about was the numbers 1 to 10 coming off alignment when you change fonts, I added a second font + deleted the 1 to 10 numbers for the scores and initials, but at the end is a personal preference, that's what I like about Hypseus Singe and the Framework, it gives the flexibility to change the game.

Hi Max, and thank you for your wonderful work. Is it a deliberate thing or a bug the fact that if you select from the option to continue from the last move (or any other option) it keeps reprising from the last scene instead?

Is not a bug, the function is disable on the script due possible cause of random game crash, never got to take it out the game menu as an option.

Hi! thanks for this amazing Job, a question. it's complicated have Italian Dubbing? in this forum u can find the files, but is not a single file, is separated.

If you, or someone else, creates an .ogg file to match the current game audio (in a language of your choice).


It is trivial to add language selection to the game menu's, so multiple languages can easily be supported, other Hypseus games already do this.

 

This is just an audio editing exercise, it does not require you to do anything other than create a matching audio file - Use Audacity.

 

Preferably a native of the language would be the best person to do this.

 

This applies to any language for which Space Ace audio files exist.

 

I will happily add this option, if someone produces a valid audio file.

 

Over to you guys.

As promised on the the additional, in-game, Options: (You still need to create audio files)

This is an open source project, if anyone wants to create different language audio, help is always welcome, If they share the work I can host the files for download.

It has to be compatible with this version of this game.

Anyone with experience on Audacity (Free to use) could make a new .ogg file using that footage.
