You are not gonna get an answer on why it is the way it is, I don't think. It seemed to work best at the time of writing, is probably the best answer. Apologies if that was your real question, I just get a real grumpy old git when everyone is asking - "Can you make? ", "Here's an idea for a game" and "Will you fix..." when they have no intention of contributing anything themselves

If you want the Arcade version, then FFS sake play the Arcade version via the arcade ROM emulation - 'lair' or get arcade+ with 'dle21' If you want HD video find LizardKing's video for the Daphne emulations game. It's the best there is. If you don't like Karis' version but wanna play LUA simulation, then change it - theses games are all created by fans. Don't diss Karis's decisions if you can't be bothered to attempt learning and writing games yourself.

In the Discord server someone got this working a while ago. Might be worth checking in there. Search "Lichtknarre" in the Discord for the whole discussion.

These are all Daphne games, I just found 5 or 6 archive.org repos with them all, roms and video/audio, all ready to work using the Hypseus repo bat files. For the HD/4k video conversions, you are best searching through the threads on this forum.

Where on this earth did you get "hypseus2.exe" from ? Just use the bat files from the release zips. Don't make things up

You had no issue blaming @Mike n Britteny with what you KNEW to be false evidence above. So why should we believe you now? The circumstantial evidence against you mounts up to a far more convincing argument. My statement stands: @BLADESCATER leaked the unfinished game without admitting any ownership and manipulated @memphiselle into believing it had been stolen. If you hadn't broken the relationships with all the other devs, through your lies, you might have someone to back you up. The evidence against you is now collaborated by several parties. Protest all you want.

I think it is more accurate to say Hypseus is an upgraded version of the Daphne engine, with Singe support thrown in. hypseus lair vldp -framefile vldp/lair/lair.txt -fastboot -scorebezel hypseus ace vldp -framefile vldp/ace/ace.txt -fastboot -dedannunbezel Will get you the basics with the video/audio and framefiles from sirdrak here.

Why is everyone talking about Singe? These are Daphne video files. They play perfect in Daphne/Hypseus using the lair, dle21, ace, sae and lair2 ROMS - and are very nice encodes

This sounds more like an issue with Retrobat than Hypseus - most users launch from .bat files. Singe 1 games were already several m2v files, you have the wrong video source, try archive.org

Nope, ffmpeg keeps the frame rate of the original, as it should. You don't do anything except what is in the example. I have the Singe 1 (00-singe1 folder) and Singe 2 Timegal (00-singe2 folder) games setup and the video details for each are: timegal.m2v - 65537 (Singe 1) Video/timegal.m2v - 56441 (Singe 2) The FPS for both is 29.970 according to the mediainfo tool.

It's not pik'n'mix - all the singe files are in the repo you listed above: https://github.com/DirtBagXon/hypseus_singe_data If you start mixing files up, who knows what state you will end up. Get the repo zip, then find, or recode, the required video/audio - that's it. I have all the Singe 1, HD Gun Games on a Sinden RPi and Singe 2 conversations on the Windows PC from that repo. If you want it handed to you on a plate, then Singe2 still wins, but for the bells and whistles, and new Daphne games, you need to read up a little. Note: There are 3 different versions of TimeGal in the repo, maybe the video you have is from a different version?

Forget Singe for these games, you need to use the Daphne `dle21` and `sae` ROMS in a Daphne load. Get the dle21.zip and sae.zip from any of the Daphne archives. Put them in the "roms" folder.

It's actually quite fun once you learn the moves, but importantly another classic laserdisc preserved. The pre-release download link seems to have disappeared now though..... ?
