I have done that in the past (super complicated) but the issue is, I can't even program the controllers within Mame at this point. If I get the controller ID's, would I not then need to go into Mame and assign my controls still? It's a homemade arcade contoller using a GRS 12 in one board. It's usb so no adapter. This has worked before and I have no idea why it's doing this.

Well, it's happening again. The 2 unknown devices were there again, so I uninstalled them. The Mame problem persists. The 3 keyboards showed up again, I tried deleting 2 except this time, it did not solve the issue in mame. I have no idea what's going on. There's something Mame does not like with Windows 11, and I can't figure it out. I do use JoytoKey, but it's not loaded. I double checked task manager. I have tried plugging them in individually with no luck.

I sort of figured it out! It's working properly now and it was 1 of 2 things. I checked device manager and there were 2 unknown devices, so I disabled them. Also, there were 3 keyboards showing, so I disabled the 2 that I didn't recognize. Voila! I can program my controllers again. Not sure which one was the issue and I'm not going to mess around with it. thanks for responding though!

UPDATE - I have 3 joysticks. 2 generic and 1 Tron. Without doing any configuration, Mame is using the Tron stick and buttons (for some strange reason). If I unplug Tron, launch a game and hit Tab, the menu just keeps flickering and I can't get into it! So what the hell?

I did try the delete button, which then displays "none", but like I said, as soon as I hit enter to program a function, all the controls populate at the bottom and I can't enter anything. It worked before and the only thing I did was unplug the power to the usb hub, so I doubt it's a hardware issue. I have had this happen to me before but I can't remember how I fixed it unfortunately. I actually tried downloading Mame and installing a seperate, fresh copy. Same problem happened when I tried to program the controls.

Hi, I should've put that I tried that too. As soon as i click, it just populates with all the controllers and buttons at the bottom and won't let me input anything. I included what I hope is a better pic.

Hi guys, I have a homemade arcade stick setup with 3 joysticks and multiple buttons. Things were working fine but recently I had to move the computer and I powered off the usb hub that the controllers were plugged into. I was using the "read only" method in the .cfg folder so Mame remembered my controller setup. When I booted up and tried launching Mame, it crashed and I discovered that something in the .cfg folder was now causing the crash (so, something happened when I unplugged powered off the hub for the arcade stick). I deleted the folder and tried creating a new .cfg by launching a game and setting up the controls, but now I get this (see photo). As you can see, when I try to assign a joystick movement, it populates with a TON of other buttons/controllers and won't let me enter any controllers. I had this problem once before and (stupid me) I didn't write down the solution. Please HELP! Fyi, the sticks and buttons are all detected in Windows 11, I'm getting no errors for the USB controllers in Device Manager and this was working just prior to shutting off the usb hub.

Anyone else have sound issues in After Dark? Once I hit start, there's a continuous, loud sound like Niagara Falls and you can hear the voices in the background are all distorted. I can't seem to find a setting to correct this. Is there some kind of patch? It's version 2.30 or whatever.

Hi. When calibrating in test mode, how do you select? Trigger just moves the selection. I can't seem to actually select Gun Setting.

How? I keep getting a "cannot find exe" in TP when trying to load Pac Man. There is no exe. It says the executable is pacmanbr.zip.

Hi. Keyboard encoders. I was trying to get around the whole windows changing my controller ID thing with MAME. I had all 3 joysticks plugged into a usb hub before. Then I tried plugging in each stick into it's own usb port. That's when the weird issues arose. I've since gone back to the hub and I've secured all my connections in my arcade stick box better, and so far, things are working properly. It's possible that when I move the arcade stick box around, there were lose connections and windows would change the ID's. I know there's a fairly complicated method with MAME for setting permanent ID's, but I'm trying setting the .cfg files to Read ONLY for now and seeing if that holds.

Hi. I suddenly started having this issue (using Mame .273). when I go to set my joystick, it refuses to take any input and automatically populates at the bottom with a bunch of joysticks/buttons. I have 3 joysticks with buttons plugged in via usb. I tried unplugging 2 of them and then my keyboard won't work right in Mame. I hit Tab but it just flashes the menu and disappears. Any idea what the heck happened and what I should check? I've been using Mame for years and never had this happen.

Same issue. Crosshair is stuck at top of screen. Mine also comes up with "guns not calibrated". When I go into Gun Calibration, I can't shoot the target to calibrate. There's no response from the trigger. Did you find a solution?

Could anyone help me with an ahk script for Sailor Zombie? I set it up with Reshade because there's no Sinden border. My Sinden cursor just drifts all over the place. I tried calibrating in the game, but I just get drift. I'm trying to set it up to launch Demulshooter and the rpcs3 but I can't seem to get it.

Standalone I believe. It loads up and stays on the I/O test screen for a while, then goes to the whip error I mentioned. Is it Patreon on TP btw?

Hi. On Virusman site, when I try to download something through qiwi, the link keeps trying to open up this textureman.com site and fails (won't open). Does anyone have a way around this? qiwi used to work great for me, but now it keeps trying to open this damn site and I can't get past it. thanks
