I Have game running great with my Sinden Lightgun except for one problem.... during gameplay the gun alignement veers off by quite a bit and wont centre making it unplayable eventually... Weirdly it changes the default settings in my sinden software meaning I have to recalibrate everytime I play the game...

Anyone have any Idea what the hell is going on?

Use DemulShooter, it fixes that issue, as far as I can tell.

wow, the nostalgia panel must be really great :very-good:, it's really a great buy.

i love yahoo auction, I found my SDVX arcade panel there
personally, I prefer to have dedicated cab, with a little bit of recovery, it possible "without spending too much money".... not tooooo much.... ^_^

Honestly it's more about space and the ability to switch things up when I want to. Like, the controller + the cabinet panels will cost almost as much as a cab when fully built (with the 2 32inch screens and all)... but when I'm tired of Nostalgia, I can easily sell the modded controller. A cab... not so easy to get rid of. Then I can put something else in the place of where the controller was sitting... so ya, at least this way you get flexibility. Next, I need to find a IIDX control panel. I've seen a few, but they always end up being too expensive. hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on one this summer, otherwise I'll just get a RED from GAMO2. Same price, half the effort to put together.

yes, like many bemani games, the default resolution is 720p.
the start in 1080p on your other screen probably comes from your scaling settings (only slightly impacts the timing on this game)

the panel you will receive is the keyboard ?

post pictures of your cab when you have started

Ya, I found an extracted keyboard arcade panel on yahoo auctions. I found info on how to use it on a PC, so I figured I'd give it a shot. As for the setup, yup, will do. I need to figure out what I want to do with my current setup, as I currently have Chunithm and IIDX already running on the spot I plan on playing Nostalgia on. Might try to merge all 3 into 1 setup with the controllers needing to switch when I want to play a specific game... Or move IIDX to another PC... I don't know yet. Too many games, too many controllers.

  4. Hey is it normal this is only loading in 720 resolution? Any way to get this to boot in HD mode?

Alright, so I'm not sure why this happened, but on one of my screens, the game launches in 720p, but on my good screen it will launch in 1080p. Another cool thing I noticed is if you try to launch this game with a touch screen as a primary or secondary monitor, the mouse will not work anymore, and you will have to use to touch screen... so don't use your Lightning mode touchscreen as your secondary monitor for this game.

Also, the cabinet uses 2 32inch screens, so if you activate 2 screens when booting the game, the game will detect this, and use your primary monitor as the cabinet's primary monitor, and your secondary will be used as the top marquee screen of the cabinet. This is cool if you want to build your own cab (which I am considering getting a second 32inch for) from scratch.

Oh, and the game will automatically crash (without failing the Sound test, it just straight up crashes) if you use 7.1 channels for audio. So make sure to use 2 channels on your speakers before launching, otherwise it will not work.

Those are all the issues I've encountered and fixed for this game. Everything seems to be running smoothly now. Just waiting for my Arcade Panel to arrive from Japan to hook it up to my Arduino for the full arcade experience (minus the 32inch touch screen... that's way too expensive)!

First Bemani game, yeah. Didn't know Asphyxia was required. In spicecfg I set the service url to http://localhost:8083 and edited ea3-config.xml to include 8083 but I'm still doing something wrong. The Coloris is saved, but not the scores. Also each time it makes me agree to the (what I'm presuming is a) service agreement and gives me an option to change my name. Is normal?

I got the game running but I'm still a little confused on a few things. How does card reading work? I set up a card0.txt file and generated a number but when I try to inset the card when the game is running I get an error. Also, whenever I exit the game all of the scores I had are cleared. Is there a way to fix this?

Hey, make sure your Game card ID (the numbers in the file) are in the right format. Like, this will crash the game if it's not done correctly. On more recent versions of SpiceTools, you can have it generate the ID for you. Make sure you set the keypad to the keypad you plan on using (you need a keypad, and make sure when you press a button, you can see an input in the test field in ST). Finally, press + on the keypad when the game asks you for a card. For scores, you will need a server (for example, Asphyxia), and you need to put in the Asphyxia server number in the config file... like, this is basic dump stuff (All Bemani games work this way) Is this your first one?

hi,wich pedal do you use?and do you change something in command to play for the sinden and the pedal? config?

    thanks

I use these Amazon pedals: https://www.amazon.ca/iKKEGOL-Control-Customized-keyboard-Multimedia/dp/B07553KW32/ref=sr_1_5?crid=21M6A6THC527N&dchild=1&keywords=usb+foot+pedal&qid=1610650304&sprefix=usb+foot%2Caps%2C170&sr=8-5

And no... The only thing I did was map "o" and "T" to up and down on my Sinden, and "y" and "t" to my pedals. Basically I use this pedal ONLY for TC5. I have another pedal I use for PS2 TC games, as those require mouse buttons to be pressed (as opposed to keyboard buttons) to work with PCSX2... So ya. Pretty simple setup. Just a lot of hardware to play everything.

Thx for the help guys! I got the iidx 27 working.

I do have a question tho.  I noticed that as you play the songs with lyrics, the said lyrics will gradually become off from the sound, which will cause issues with hitting the notes perfectly.  Is there way to fix this?  I have it on 120hz.  I noticed that this issue is more severe when not locked on 120 hz...

Try spicetools instead of btools. Fixed this for me.

Hi everybody, I hope you can help me.

I had a previous copy working but Paseli was unavailable, so I decided to delete the folders and download the game again.

I followed the steps from the video. Butterfly works but the game crashes everytime I run it.
Also, in the video appear a dll as a hook but I can't find it in the folders.

    There's the log.

    Thanks in advance

EDIT: I don't know if that matters, but I'm using Bitdefender Total Security

    log.txt

Hey try using BemaniTools instead. Fixed it for me.

  10. Just some info to add to the FAQ:

    1) I am currently running the game on an Extreme K-cab with J-PAC + LumenAR for lights. I have had a LOT of trouble running the game past initial checks screen with Spice tools. Switching to Bemani Tools worked had the game running in a few seconds. So if ever you come across issues when the game will boot, but crash after all checks are OK, try switching to Bemani Tools. For BTools, just extract the DDR 16 (32bit) and all the dlls that come with it in your contents folder. Run DDR 16 bat file to launch the game (Oh and make sure to configure with Btools configuration bat file, not SpiceCFG... just in case)

    2) For LumenAR to work properly, you will need AT LEAST BemaniTools 5.3+ Older versions do not have the right lights to set up, and the lights will either do the wrong thing or not work at all in-game.

Still having audio crackling issues, and I've tested a few outputs on my on-board sound card, as well changing channels and bit rate... Not sure what's causing it, but I'll investigate further. It's weird though, it won't crackle during songs, just after a song ends, and during the attract mode tutorial... anyways. Thanks topet2k12001 for all the work he's put into this thread.

Kudos to all the FAQ and guide given to set this up!

I followed all steps from step 1 to step done, but in the end, just couldn't get it to work on a 573 cab with minimaid.  Couldn't get it to boot with Spicetools.  Either it would fail to load, or screen would start clicking like crazy (doesn't support resolution above 640x480).  I enabled the option to keep it at 4:3 resolution, but didn't seem to matter.  Tried adding -o in the bat file, still didn't fix that issue.

What I ended up having to do was do the alternate recommended step in a later post that said to try using Bemani Tools and that did the trick.  Booted right up without issue.

Since I wasn't using Spicetools, I ended up using BemaniPatcher to apply the desired mods (fast/slow, darkest background (didn't see one for removing the note measurement lines?) etc.), worked like a charm.

    All seems stable!

Is it just me, or do some of the songs sound ever so slightly lower in pitch?  Just an observation.

    Thanks again!

Hey Did you get the lights to work using your Minimaid on A20 using BemaniTools? Lights work PERFECTLY on SpiceTools, but I was never able to get them to work properly with Btools... Let me know what your experience was/is like for that. Thanks!

I have an idea: please share both your ea3-config.xml, as well as log.txt. Try to start the game first up to the time you get the error and only then send log.txt so that the log file fully captures whatever error it is. They're safe to be shared publicly since those files don't contain any personally-identifiable information.

How are you configuring your startup/launch settings or options? Is it by editing a .bat file manually, or through SpiceTools Configuration? If you're doing it via SpiceTools Configuration please share the complete screenshot/s as well.

hey, here is my log file... maybe this can help? Thanks...

I already shared mine publicly and made a lengthy post about it in the old thread, here.

Actually a cleaner way to do it is:

    1. In SpiceTools config, go to "Options" tab. There's a field for users to manually enter the URL. You just type "http: //localhost" there (without the quotes), since that's what butterfly requires.
    2. This is "cleaner" in that users don't need to manually edit the ea3-config.xml file. Keeps the file in its "pristine/untouched" state.

The post from the old thread that I linked was how I used to do it (i.e. opening ea3-config and manually editing it) because when I got to learn about all of this data dump scene, that's how everyone else was doing it. However, right now I'm doing it the "clean" way as I have just described (i.e. enter the URL in SpiceTools configuration).

Ya, right now nothing seems to be working. Still getting the 2600 error even with your XML. I green lit all the Butterfly files with windows defender... I'm really not sure what's going on right now.

I can't do anything about it. That's typical of Windows to falsely flag 3rd-party executables as a virus, so it's not a butterfly issue either. You have to mark or add the file to the "Exceptions" so that it won't be flagged moving forward. I think it was designed that way, so that there is "full user consent" that a certain executable is to be trusted.

Also butterfly is open source so anyone who doubts it can inspect it. You can check the entire source code in my GitHub, or the GitHub of the original author.

Update: Added your question to FAQ

So my Butterfly issue was solved by adding an Exception to Windows Defender. Basically you need to Exclude the .exe, not the folder. And it should work.

However I now get a 5-2600-0000 network error, but that's typically because the EA-config file is not ok... gonna check out why that is happening.

This is related to your sound card. You need to use your on-board sound card and makes sure you are using the right bit rate and frequency. Otherwise you will get weird issues like this. For example, I use 2 channel, 16 bit, 48000 Hz. This works with SDVX. Play around with these and different audio sources (Set the source you want to test to default audio device). Make sure you close the game completely before testing a new configuration. But ya, use the one mentioned and you should be ok.
