I think some parts are better with my filter and it eliminates the dark halos (still need to work on the chroma halos), but overall I was surprised to see my filter made everything so blurry. Did you apply the same sharpening settings? So still need to work on it.

This is my filtered one. Dark halos have disappeared but it feels too blurry. So not good.

I primarily focused on removing or reducing the halo on your file, so I didn’t apply any sharpening settings.

 

I usually adjust the Topaz Video settings dynamically, so I’m not certain which specific parameters I used previously.

 

It’s great if you can remove the halo. I don’t think it will be difficult to make the footage sharper.

Not sure if im awake enough but what is the difference between the to videos in the first post? are they both the restored proto videos (same video)?

UPDATE:

Removed the first 157 frames from DLE-NTSC-Restored.m2v.
The restored version now works correctly with Hypseus.
Make sure you include DLE-NTSC-Restored.ogg, as well as dle21.txt and lair.txt.

You can download the DLE in MKV format for the video and in WAV format for the audio, both taken directly from the original LaserDisc.

This is the best possible source from the LaserDisc and can be used for any future restorations.

Since the original footage quality is very low, further restorations are welcome.

 

You can also download DLE-NTSC-Restored.m2v with its .ogg audio file.

This is the version I restored to improve the overall quality, and it is fully compatible with Hypseus.

I have now finalized version 2 of my restoration project, it looks great and I will release it shortly as a Christmas present.
