Buy an arduino, it's inexpensive and does not require serious programming experience. Beware of using the cheap Chinese version, it has an incompatible USB chip CH340/CH341. We need a version with an atmel chip on USB controller, because it will need to be flashed. You can get a cheap used revision 1 and flash it with this fork: https://github.com/piupiu75/PIUIO_ArduinoUNO_R1 Be careful, before flashing the arduino, you need to upload the sketch in normal mode.
