sky2310 Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has been able to find a good way to emulate Sega Tri-force games (a joint project between Sega, Nintendo and Namco). Apparently the developers of Dolphin incorporated support for this back in the day when the emulator first started but it has since been abandoned. There's only around two dozen games ever released but most of them are timeless arcade classics like Mario Kart Arcade GP 1 & 2. https://wiki.dolphin-emu.org/index.php?title=Triforce

sky2310 Posted April 17, 2019 Author Posted April 17, 2019 (edited) By the way guys, I worked out a way to play Mario Kart 2 GP perfectly: Add the game onto classic Dolphin and then click edit code then add: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-triforce-mario-kart-arcade-gp-2 (Credit to Starscream for card bypass and unlimited coins mod). TO RUN MARIO KART ARCADE 1 - For those having issues shooting items, just load the game with this version of Dolphin: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/b957980d9f27279d2507a50e115bf275141a4ea7/ Edited April 17, 2019 by sky2310
Guest linglang Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 (edited) Thanks man, added 3 fun games to the collection, work fine out of the box, but a bit of rocket launcher "crap" around it. I extracted just the emulators, and roms and all 3 2 run fine. BTW, all the files in this package are set to read only ! The ISO contained in this package of Mario kart GP is the same as Mario Kart GP 2, so twice the same file. I made shortcuts to start the game directly. Make a shortcut to your Dolphin executable Right click the shortcut and click properties Now put the following string into the "Target" Box: "[Path to your Dolphin.exe]" -b -e "[Path to your game rom]" -b = makes the Dolphin loader / emulator close on game close. (escape) -e = Execute specific ROM. Without brackets but with quotation marks. Edited April 18, 2019 by linglang

You can get the Mario Kart GP 1 official rom here: https://mega.nz/#!hhhkDZLK!5l68zz1dX1JroXUDh2wkh1WZotVZRoqv8y2_Rb4UmuQ To get it working there's so tinkering with different versions etc (if running Dolphin): https://www.speedrun.com/mkagp/guide/38ljo Did Rocket Launcher launch both files fine? 1
Guest linglang Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 (edited) I do not need nor use the (incomplete) files for Rocketlauncher , so I did not test it. Here another link for Mario Kart Arcade GP. http://www.mediafire.com/file/3q3r5fw5cu1exo5/Mario_Kart_+Arcade+GP+(USA).rar Does anyone which TriForce games function with Dolpin or another loader ? Any links to the ISO's needed ? Thanks in advance. Edited April 18, 2019 by linglang

Out of the 6-7, Mario Kart GP 1 & 2 + F-Zero are the best ones. The 2 virtua Striker games have never been emulated successfully as far as I know. Perhaps you could try and see how you go. What launcher did you use to launch the included games? I used Dolphin the Tri-force mod.
eathearty1 Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 To boot virtual striker 3 ver. 2002 you need dolphin (triforce) 3.0-697 2

Bigfraz5 Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 I have 4 games working and they all use there own version of emulator

Thanks pal. That would be great if you could make a video and specify which versions you use that work. Tri-Force only had a handful of games and besides the two Mario Kart GP games, only F-Zero and the Virtual Soccer games are worth playing.

I really appreciate your help. Could you upload the version of Dolphin which works for F-Zero and the one that works separately with Virtua Striker games? It would be good for others who are interested to have. Once again, much appreciated.
Guest linglang Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 (edited) @sky2310 Your google link package contains a working version of F-Zero GX works fine for me. Mario 2 also, use the link for Mario 1 posted a few posts back. Extract the files from the google drive post, and separate the loaders and roms for each loader / game combo in their own folders, works fine for me. Thanks for your initial post ! Guest trouby Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 Oh yes for me the arcade version of F-Zero AX doesnt work, so if it works for you , how? for me i can play the GC version quite well. F-Zero GX lang of course the game cube version works. we were, or atleast I was talking about what we are talking about , which is the bloody arcade version of the game 'AX'
Guest linglang Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 (edited) @trouby Thanks for the info, I thought @sky2310 put up a post with the correct arcade versions. https://gbatemp.net/threads/entire-f-zero-ax-found-inside-f-zero-gx.344183/ So how do you go about enjoying this arcade treat? All you need is the Nintendo Gamecube Action Replay or Gameshark and the PAL or NTSC version of F-Zero GX. Using the codes below, you'll be granted access to this hidden portion of the game: Code to access AX [PAL] Z60V-MZG0-VRAQ2 3DFJ-55T9-J5J7P NBCW-U1NV-0JDJG HK7K-0RFW-FNQ8Y PF4U-P5D0-862X1 9D4X-PVXV-R3FNV Q7PM-1678-XE7FW UAB4-HZ2F-AW6X5 T6UV-03PE-1H26C BN71-WCD5-DYDNW FHW5-F3D3-B2UZ5 NJR5-FE19-GQ851 5FRQ-P6M4-096F3 85KV-QPJD-4U999 VXM8-U9Y8-URZPR VZFH-H43M-5N6E3 G71V-JPGY-BPDDZ GUZD-V5KT-UBKA8 Code to access AX [NTSC-U] 61TA-AXPK-UAV9E EHJV-6U30-2DTVE NBCW-U1NV-0JDJG HK7K-0RFW-FNQ8Y PF4U-P5D0-862X1 7HUZ-2PJY-J5TTU Q7PM-1678-XE7FW YW2J-AUVE-R79V8 T6UV-03PE-1H26C R91R-1A6J-ZXN30 1GHM-VQ7W-7HBWW Other unlock codes. https://geckocodes.org/index.php?c=GFZP01 Works for me !! https://ibb.co/0mRjznVhttps://ibb.co/rvD5Nsr https://ibb.co/RjZQT8shttps://ibb.co/wrMbfGZhttps://ibb.co/1J6qh6Xhttps://ibb.co/wCqVMBThttps://ibb.co/0mgbchH Probably the correct arcade AX ISO ? http://www.mediafire.com/file/c4p758zdy6cv5b4/Put+on+sd+card.zip In the .zip /games/fzeroax/game.iso Name: game.iso Size: 435995904 bytes (415 MiB) SHA256: 3326B5EE2F2D4B421B6058CAA4F95C569BB6E2EB6CB3AF19FA099B625B560824 Quote: F-Zero AX ISO GAME ID: GFZJ8P Dolphin emu recognizes the Game, but it's not bootable. If you load the game into Dolphin Emu's game list, it will be called VirtuaStriker2002. Don't be confused because of that. The Game ID's prefix (GFZ) proves it's a F-Zero Game. From Dolphin wiki: Broken Due to unemulated features that the game relies upon, F-Zero AX is not playable even on the Triforce branch. It is possible to enter in-game through the use of certain gecko codes, however there are limited controls as well as several graphical and camera glitches. I have no idea how to get the arcade AX version to work at the moment. Edited April 22, 2019 by linglang
Guest trouby Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 LANG ITS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME GAME anyway. the F-Zero GX game.
sky2310 Posted April 22, 2019 Author Posted April 22, 2019 44 minutes ago, trouby said: LANG ITS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME GAME anyway. the F-Zero GX game. Yep, nearly exactly the same except the arcade was called F-Zero AX and the gamecube port was called F-Zero GX. The AX version apparently had some more stages and few extra characters from memory but plays the same. Call me nuts, but I find these versions boring compared to the old on Nintendo 64 for gameplay supremacy that is!

sky2310 Posted April 22, 2019 Author Posted April 22, 2019 9 hours ago, trouby said: ah excuse me? no they are arcade tri force games. which you play with the 'triforce dolphin version' Hey pal, we appreciate your sharing very much so please don't misunderstand, but your games have .gcm file extensions which are used for Nintendo Gamecube games which certainly can be played on the Dolphin emulator as it run both Nintendo Gamecube and Wii games, see here: https://fileinfo.com/extension/gcm However, the Sega Tri-force arcade board was a joint project between Sega, Nintendo and Namco whereby all three would contributing to making the games, it would run on Sega's hardware and Namco would be actively involved in the design and development hence the name. These "Tri-force" games were then ported to the Nintendo Gamecube (most of them not all) so although they may be known as Tri-Force games which they are, they are not arcade dumps but Nintendo Gamecube roms which is probably what you have. Thanks all the same.
