Operation G.H.O.S.T.

OG.png

I used Teknoparrot 1.0.0.125 in conjuction with Gameloader All RH 0.3.3.3

Small problem !

https://teknogods.github.io/compatibility/sr3.htm

Thanks @Nezarn

:very-good:

Executable file is /Game Folder/Rally/Rally.exe

Above solution for Sega Rally 3, breaks Operation Ghost.

https://ibb.co/Bj1PXCn

Solution:

for people having an issue with sega rally 3 and operation GHOST ... after applying the sega rally fix that made OG crash ..

what i did in "codec tweak tool " -- > preferred decoders --- i only set WMV3 to work with LAV video ... while WMV1 /WMV2 use Microsoft

with only setting WMV3 to run with LAV .. sega rally 3 works fine and at the same time operation GHOST runs fine

F1 or 5 is insert coin player 1

1 is start Player 1

F2 - F5 are to start missions 2 - 5

F6 is to show a video

Space is skip forward the video ?

Left mouse button is shoot.

Right mouse button is action button, to switch between single shot, and burst fire.

Auto reload, no need to go off screen.

No idea if it will work with Aimtrack or other guns.

Works for me, full screen and crosshairs correctly aimed, without Window$ mouse overlay.

Executable files is, gs2.exe

Enjoy.

Still not working ?

A "work around" (does not work for me, but you could try.)

I hope that this tutorial helps other people out.

It takes you a few moments to read, but it took me all night to figure it out.

When you get the game working, thanks to this "manual", please give a thanks at this post.

:very-good:

Also look at the posts below, some members / people add helpful information, thank them also .....

And a BIG thanks for the people who originally uploaded the games, we all can enjoy (if you do it right) !!!

And of course all the people involved in, the game loaders and JVS I/O emulation applications we use, and all the people I "forgot".

Thank you very much for the tutorial, I am trying to build the pistol game system for my hyperspin with two aimtrack.

Copy the executables of the launcher rh, I put your config, and it gives me a bug, one of the following, requiered fles does not exit, budgieloader.exe, Parrotlader64.exe, teknoparrouui.exe not having much of the subject. I do not know what's wrong.

i think you missed this step

Gameloader ALL RH needs to know where Teknoparrot 1.90 (works fine) is.

but it can also run standalone with Gameloader All RH (still needs TeknoParrot for decryption ?)

Hey Linglang, can you please help me buddy...

I managed to get the game to load in fullscreen fine but am now having issues with the aiming...I enabled Xinput and use mouse in game but everything I shoot I can hear the shooting sound but no bullets and cannot aim properly. Am I missing something?

This entire game can be loaded with ZERO loaders, or emulators, and has full pc controls built in why would anyone run it via TeknoParrot is beyound me.

Do you know how to make it fullscreen with a working crosshair that aims properly? I think people use front end loaders because of these two reasons.

well 1st off, any game that dosent naively have a cross-hair, You dont "just add" via a loader a tool such a game loader then fakes fullscreen, and adds a mouse-overlay so it isnt true full-screen and comes with those side effects input lag being one of them.

2nd of all, this game naively has crosshatch built in. and runs in fullscreen mode

Edit the gs2.ini.

EnableJvs=0

EnableAMLib=0

FullScreen=1

EnableInputDevices=1

much wow game works

Thanks but I was hoping for crisp and clear HD graphics at my native 4K resolution that is not pixalated with controls. What is the max this game can display at?

Much appreciated.

not really sure how to respond to such a dumb statement tbh its clear you dont remotely understand how these applications work

Arcade games naively are between 640x480 to 1920 x 1080 depends on the title. , nothing you do will change that, anamorphic scaling, what gameloader dose btw, dosent increase the native render res it In larges the picture. its a windows based zoom

Aka running it in true fullscreen mode with native gpu scaling on generally will provide a better picture.

The flip-side are small amounts of games where nothing in game has a fixed location, so you can adjust the internal render resolution .examples of games like this are games such as battle-gear 4, you can make it render at 1080p or 4k but all the menus break because there locations are hard-coded.

A very few small % of games, dont have ui elements, or something thats hard-coded, and allow you to easily adjust the native render resolution. Alot of type x titles fall into this catagory, hence why jconfig has a DXrender hook, and ArcadePC has made multiple exes

where the output resolution has been modified.

in the case of opperation ghost.

HD patch is not uploaded as it has problems. | Enable "Do not use TeknoParrot". | Mission select F1 to F6

Quoted form Arcade pcs thread, this game has hard coded ui elements that break the game

Thank you for your detailed reply and the "education". Arcade emulation (besides MAME) is somewhat new to me as I am used to console emulation such as Dolphin, Cemu etc where you can increase the resolution and graphics actually look better than they did so pardon the rather simple question but you have answered it well. Much appreciated!

Posted

By the way, I was able to maximise it in Windowed format to the following. Looks a little pixalated as I have a 4K 43" monitor.

So there's no way to make this look better?

The reason traditional emulation such as mame, and dolphin, specially emulation such as dolphin allows you to swap the resolution is beacuse, they are emulated  form the ground up,

arcade pc games are not running on your computer via emulation

the only thing being "emulated" in the case of arcade games is the controls, often called the "io" meaning when a game wants to talk to D3d9. Directx9 Render , the game is able to do this naively,

A system such dolphin ,is a full emulation of the internal OS and system of a gamecube / wii so everything form the controls, to the save data bus is done in emulation.

it then has to interrupt that information and output it via directx 9 10 12 ect

thats why if you compare a gamecube, to say a computer, a gamecube is a 400mhz power pc A 400 mhz , Pentium 3 pc  would never emulate a gamecube at fullspeed, cuz thees to much going on.

Vs with an arcade dump, You can build a system with the same specs as a typex 2, and you will get the same performance.  because theres little to no emulation happening.

No because once again thats purely the window size, its a zoom effect,

the internal resolution via every method you could do will result in broken game elements.

I understand. Never looked into this but makes a lot of sense. No wonder I've been wondering why the arcade games look a little dated (nothing wrong with this by the way) and there's no way to upscale.

Much appreciated. I learned something new today!

There are alot of games, that you can mess with and make render at higher native resolutions,

Specially if you look at the arcadepc thread, he often modify the exes so it can be done via  hard patch however, you also can toggle this same type of functioanlly by editing the Reder w-h inside jconfig.

another major thing to consider, is whats pre-rendered vs whats not.  a game like kof 13 Climax with all its pixel art, isnt exactly going to look steller at 8k

Where a game such as street fighter 4, since its all 3d even the environments, looks considerably better as you play with the internal resolution

Thanks again for an informative explaination.

Can you please explain what you meant by:  functioanlly by editing the Reder w-h inside jconfig. ?

IS the one I am using with Operation Ghost have this feature?

in jconfig specifally there is, 2 options

RenderX

Render Y

Window x and window y

the widow size is just that how big the display window is, the render size is the internal resolution override.

Thanks again buddy.

Are you referring to DX resolution? I think you pointed out, this particular game it appears it cannot render any higher than 1024x576?

I see...thanks again buddy! Learned a lot today about classic arcade emulation. So really, playing Operation ghost aka Ghost Squad on Wii on Dolphin would be so much more nicer looking.

So is there any way to run fullscreen properly (native res.) with just vanilla TP? I always get a black border on bottom no matter what I do, with gfx "smearing". Tried that 'workaround' file but no change.

Fullscreen works fine for me with just All RH Game Loader.

There is a way to make graphics look much better on TP (see front HD workaround mod) but then the mouse doens't work. :-(

Getting the GLA it loads with a little bit of screen tearing but then the mouse works but is a tad slower - I wonder if any way to speed it up a tad?
