  1. @NoctsRanun the term "leak" is often associated with, or denotes, a "deliberate" disclosure (of information or data or whatever). That's why @tw3nz0r has it correctly when he said "it depends on when someone decides to share." The "decides to share" part is the key component to the meaning of a "leak" because that is what constitutes the "deliberate" disclosure of the information. So, technically a "leak" is a "breach" of something that should not have been divulged. I understand that in daily social media lingo/talks, people nowadays talk of a "leak" as something that's "an okay thing" that people talk about publicly, and as if it is supposed to happen at regular time intervals (for example, "leaks" about the next smart phone model from brand xyz). I think the term and context got romanticized/glamorized through the years and has gotten out of context. Sometimes, information is "leaked intentionally" as a marketing strategy (to create "buzz"). But that's a different discussion altogether.
  2. Dude, there's no timeframe for it. You need to understand the literal and the colloquial use of the term "leak" especially in software terms.
  3. Um...these "data dumps" are "extracted" straight from the arcades so it's not something that has a "schedule."
  4. No worries, it's cool. Let's put that to rest. Perhaps we were also just being protective of our work because it underwent a lot of tests, trial-and-error, time, and effort...and we even simulated a fresh install scenario, so we are confident with it. Anyway don't hesitate to reach out here, but please don't leave out any specific details so that on our part we also know where/how to help.
  5. Anyway...it's fine. Let's just get your game set up and working, @NoctsRanun. Once downloaded, just overwrite 2019090300 with the "DDR A20 Update Pack" and from there just follow the steps and let us know. It should work; we have tested it immensely. If you plan to do some personal "mods" please do it only after you get the game working.
  6. I'm not pointing out the credits, my friend. I'm pointing out that it was clearly written that the DDR A20 Update Pack works only for the 2019090300 data dump and apparently you are using it on the 2019042200 data dump (which you could have avoided if you have read it carefully).
  7. I'm not questioning your knowledge, but it was evident that you didn't read the README.txt (perhaps because you were complacent that you are familiar with the steps).
  8. Yes. And if you really did read the README.txt of the "DDR A20 Update Pack," you would have already known that beforehand. https://imgur.com/NxGFe8p
  9. @NoctsRanun Do ONLY the following, please: Download the 2019090300 data dump: here Download the DDR A20 Update Pack: here. Make sure to read the README.txt inside the DDR A20 Update pack and follow only what is written there. No more, no less.
  10. Please re-write your post because it is very confusing. See, you never mentioned until only later that you were actually using the 2019042200 data dump. Your game will definitely crash because the "DDR A20 Update Pack" is intended for the 2019090300 data dump only.
  11. What?!? You just said in your previous post/comment that you already extracted the 2019090300. Come on. We can't help you like this if you are not being truthful.
  12. Okay, so what do you want to talk about? The 2019042200 or the 2019090300? What are you having problems with, the 2019042200 or the 2019090300? Keep the conversation in the proper topics only please. Again, plain and simple: Forget 2019042200 for now. That is out of scope for our discussion today. Download 2019090300. Once you finish downloading, copy-paste it to another folder/location in your PC. Don't use the one that is currently downloading/uploading. Use a separate copy. Download "DDR A20 Update Pack" and copy-paste everything onto the 2019090300. Run ddr.exe TWICE as per the README.txt. DO NOT RUN SPICE.EXE (that's why we know you didn't follow the instructions).
  13. Oh my God. Hmph. You said you were following the steps. I kept on posting "Download 2019090300" and now you are saying you are using 2019042200? Tsk tsk tsk.
  14. If you're modifying files like startup.arc to add songs, then chances are your game crash may be caused by your modifications and not by our DDR A20 Update Pack. Again as I said: don't do any modifications (YET - do them after you get the game running using our steps). Just follow the steps first and ensure that the game is running. Then you do your personal modifications afterwards.
  15. In your first post, you indicated that you used DB Manager as well as DLL modder. That means you were doing things that are not in the README.txt instructions. Although you said you did as the insructions say, it is also evident that you are doing other steps that are not part of the instructions. Please try: delete everything and start all over. And do only these steps: Download the 2019090300 data dump torrent and copy-paste all of it to another location (don't play the game on the same data that is being "torrented") Download the "DDR A20 Update Pack" and copy-paste all of its contents over the 2019090300. And then run "ddr.exe" TWICE.
  16. Hello, I'm sorry but you are talking about a file that we never even used, that's why I know that you did not follow the steps in the README.txt exactly. Please follow the steps in the README.txt of DDR A20 Update Pack, exactly as it was written. EXACTLY = no more, no less. If you're not convinced that it works, try to start from scratch (from the beginning). You'll see that it works. Download the 2019090300 torrent Download and run DDR A20 Update Pack and make sure to follow the steps EXACTLY in the README.txt.
  17. @NoctsRanun Please follow the instructions EXACTLY as it was written in the README.txt of the "DDR A20 Update Pack." No more, no less. Exact only.
  18. I don't believe you did because it shouldn't crash. We don't even know anything about a "Brown Spice."
  19. Hello, Guys, let's not complicate and keep it simple since we already worked hard to sort it out for all of you. Download the 2019090300 data dump (the torrent). Download DDR A20 Update Pack and use it. The instructions are in the README.txt. LIke this. Just like this.
  20. Thanks for sharing. I think it will benefit those who play with an arcade cabinet (I would imagine it's more convenient). I'll give it a go even if I'm using a PC, for learning purposes.
  21. @Kralde Here's my original post where I documented my process of finding the "best" offset. It's manually done (by directly hex-editing the gamemdx.dll) and not via a GUI tool like GOAT, but in essence if you look at the process in its entirety, that's the only difference between manually doing it vs. using GOAT. http://www.emuline.org/topic/1589-arcade-pc-dance-dance-revolution-a20-konami/?do=findComment&comment=76160
  22. I see. For a moment I thought it had the capability to automatically identify the correct offset values (then again, there's an element of "perception" involved so there's really no single correct value that applies to everyone). For now I'm fine with manually doing it (but I'm only saying it because I'm playing the game on a PC and not a cabinet). But it wouldn't hurt to share it, if you can. For the benefit of others.
  23. Ah okay. From the looks of it, it basically aims to make it "easy" to edit gamemdx.dll with the offset value that you have identified as "a good sync value." Indeed, a tool. But also from the looks of it, it still doesn't take away the need for the actual user to identify the correct timing value (e.g. change the value->test it = if not satisfactory, adjust the value again and test again, repeat). Is that right? I think the effect is the same as the method I described in my post, the only difference being that one makes it easy to make the edit/change. But ultimately, the process is the same and the real hard work involved can't be avoided (change the setting -> test->repeat until satisfied). EDIT: I see, you have a cabinet. I think that tool benefits you, then. I would imagine how inconvenient it would be to make changes when doing them on an arcade cabinet. It does make sense to use that tool in your case, then.
  24. We haven't heard of "GOAT" but if it's "offset" that you're talking about (because when changing the game to "Gold Cab" mode the timing gets ruined), the answer is: we do it manually. See my post either Page 14 or 16. EDIT: When playing the game on the default "Blue Cab" mode, we have observed the timing to be just fine. No adjustments needed. EDIT: I believe the "DDR A20 Update Pack" is already modified to suit that timing change (on "Gold Cab" mode only).
  25. You got it! The "DDR A20 Update Pack" already covers all of the evolution that has happened from the time that the "2020020300 patch" has been dumped. Basically, our work started at page 14 or 16. Please make sure to read the README.txt in full, make sure to understand it fully before executing. It should be simple.
