    It looks like Houb is no longer checking this forum and has abandoned this project.  I don't see a way to message him directly either.  Does anyone know who we can turn to for support questions with this tool since Houb is no longer interested in helping people?

    I'm stil alive 😄

    Yep I'm quite busy for now but ArcCabView is not dead ;)

    This thread is still the best place to get support, even if I don't reply very often now I'm sure other guys from here will be glad to help

    @Kaizen777 Glad you managed to resolve the problem :)

    Happy New Year !

    Ok, I tried that and I still can't get it right.  Something is causing the blacks to be gray.  Also you do run the passes differently than CRT Geom Deluxe, not sure what all you changed internally.  Would you be willing to share the source?  I'm just interested in getting my setup the way I want it.  Thank you!

    Here an updated version with "black brightness" settings ;)

    Edit: updated again to 2.2d with a bloom fix

    https://www.mediafire.com/file/71eylbzx8oom5ji/ArcCabView_MAME_BGFX_Chain_2.2d.7z/file

    There is also a new ResY_Factor option.

    For example with ResY_Factor set at 0 it will divide by 2 the Y resolution of the CRT effect and you can get something like that :

    Image22c.png

    (set at 2 the Y resolution will be doubled)

    PS : All "special setting" chains can be removed as latest MAME builds save now the shader settings.

    Enjoy ;)

    The code is the same as the one put in the reshade shader.

    Just a few weeks ago I helped Victor74 to use PinCabView on VPForum and the source code of the PinCabView launchers were available in the releases. A few days later the Youtuber "Virtual Pinball Gameplay" posted video of PinCabView running ProPinball games in pinball cabinet mode but without any mention of PinCabView and asked people to contact him for more info. Then interrested guys got the email of Victor74 pinballvirtual@rex-arcade.com who asked money for a just renamed PinCabView package....

    image.png

    After some requests Virtual Pinball Gameplay finally updated the title and description of these 3 videos but too late unfortunately and I fear many guys were scammed already...

    So sorry but I gave the 1.3 sources, The actual reshade shader sources are available (they can't be hidden), and for my part it's enough ;)

    Hello Houb, thank you so much for creating this... it absolutely amazing and exactly what I need for my arcade cabinet which is using an OLED TV in portrait mode to play games in 4:3 aspect ratio (much of the TV is hidden in the marquee area and below the control panel.  For non-Mame games this will be critical since all the games display in the middle of the TV by default, which is partially obstructed by the cabinet!  I haven't set this up yet, but I'm grateful to have a solution for this problem. THANK YOU!

    I do have an issue/request with the Mame BGFX you created.

    I spent a lot of time adjusting CRT Geom Deluxe BGFX in Mame to look almost identical to my CRT arcade monitor.

    I'm unable to get the ArcCabView BGFX for Mame to look the way I want.  It exposes very few slider settings in Mame, it seems like much of the parameters are hard coded.  (For example, I find that blacks don't look black, they look grayish and I'm unable to change it with any setting)

    I would really love to have the frame and frame reflection effects combined with CRT Geom Deluxe or expose the same settings that CRT Geom Deluxe has in Mame.

    The frame/reflection effect is absolutely INCREDIBLE and really creates the perfect illusion.

    Is there some way I can get this effect by itself in MAME without any other processing, or expose the same parameters in ArcCabView that CRT Geom Deluxe has?

    Would you consider creating a Mame BGFX for just the frame/reflection itself?  From there I know how to integrate that into the chain passes of CRT Geom Deluxe so that it would work. Or perhaps you can share the source code for the BGFX again?  (I see that you shared v1.3 in the past)
    Perhaps I can modify it to suit my needs and compile it.
    I hope you are not offended by my request, your work is incredible.  Thank you again!

    You can change all the variable values in "bgfx\effects\ArcCabView\ArcCabView.json"

    I didn't put many of them in the UI because they are too many and they are mostly used only to match your global personnal settings/preferences.

    So changing these values here will change the display result of all your games using ArcCabView BGFX chain :)

    PS : At this time I tested more than 200 differents games with 2.6, nearly 100 are already set and ready to run. So far, in more than a year, I didn't found any real issue with the launcher. It does all the time what it should.

    It's not magic: if you try to force ArcCabView to run a game in 1080p and in the meantime you force the game to run in 480p of course you may get issues... But in that case the issue is not the launcher ;)

    So for someone trying to understand what he does and approx how it works I think everything runs fine ;)

    The only thing that will be probably updated later is the ability to send a "Game Name" to the same exe (like an emulators for example) to be able to use different configs/presets/textures for each games, and also the shader will be updated too with the changes I made last weeks for PinCabView. But without any "real issue" reported I think that's all :)

  7. Il y a 2 heures, Safur a dit :

    Et pour les jeux Lindbergh comment ça se passe étant donné qu'il n'y a pas de .exe pour le "GameName"?

    Like that :

    The Teknoparrot "FullHD hack" doesn't work correctly for this game (only VGA 480p and HD 768p mode work correctly), loading is really slow, you will get the very same reshade's settings for all your BudgieLoader games... But ArcCabView works, the launcher just needs "window mode" to launch the games (without TP crashes at launch, but in fact you don't need the launcher to run the games) :)

    I have to put an "emulator" config to the launcher in order to be able to send different game names to the same exe. That way the launcher would be able to change the preset and the arts according to the game launched.

    I will try to put that in next update :)

    Hi, looking for help to launch Senshin Aleste through Teknparrot. Here is the script I use =

    GameName=senxin_aleste_apm3.exe
    LauncherName=D:\Tate LaunchBox\Emulators\TeknoParrot\TeknoParrotUi.exe
    Command=--profile=Aleste.xml --startMinimized

    Also tried with full path but same results.

    Could manage to launch the game with a teknoparrot shortcut (--aleste.xml) but arccabview didn't react to it.

    If anyone has an idea of what I am doing wrong, I would be grateful, cheers.

    Ok I just tested and TP is too slow to launch the game...

    Try to update ArcCabView.ini in the game folder with "GameWinWait=50" and then it works :

    Hi! Houb, could you make a tutorial on how to get the best results and find out the native resolution of a game? I often don't get it perfect, texts in the games gets a bit blurry as if the scanlines are not correctly aligned, but I have seen that you get super sharp results most of the time.

    Maybe a video tutorial on how do setup a windows pixel game that doesn't get perfect with the default settings?

    For the CRT resolution there is no magic things... And the default setting (1/4 of your resolution I think) will be wrong 95% of the time...

    The best way :

    => Ensure to get the game full sized in the frame using the tuto in the 2nd post of this thread

    Don't use zooms to do it, you need to catch the true game area using "Game Video Resolution" if it's in top-Left area or using CenterLocked ratio if the game is loked to a 4/3 ratio for example.

    Then when it's ok (the game is full sized in the frame)

    => Enable CRT effect, and change the "Texture Resolution" on Y, for low res games it can be something from 180, 224, 236, 240, 256, 270 (or something like that) for recent games you can try 360 too

    The goal is to get the lines correct (you can check by enabling/disabling the CRT effect). if nothing works, keep the best value found and try to change the buffer offset (values from -3 to 3 for example)

    Then when it's ok check "vertical scanline" if the game is pixel perfect it should be ok too because the default "Texture resolution" (set as 0) on the other axis is calculated according to the other one your set.

    If it's not, try to find the correct value too (if the game is sized 4:3 most likely it won't be 640x224...), again if nothing works, keep the best value found and try to change the buffer offset

    When it's ok disable the vertical scanline if not needed and it should be good :)

    There are some other things like "round" values to help to catch perfectly the resolution according to the ratio

    So it's far to be magic and I fear there isn't any quick or auto solution because this native resolution can be really everything... ;)

    Thanks for your help Houb.

    It works without Arcabview with teknoparrot shortcut (see attached).

    Maybe my process is not correct:

    1/ Click on the ArcCabView_Launcher.exe

    2/ Select senxin_aleste_apm3.exe in game folder

    3/ Select Teknoparrot shortcut targeting Aleste

    => Profit?

    Above doesn't work, I got attached error message.

    No the shortcut was just to test your TP install

    Make a shortcut like shown and double clic on it. If the game doesn't run there something wrong in your TP settings.

    If it works, then :

    - Run ArcCabView_launcher.exe,

    - Select senxin_aleste_apm3.exe in the game folder

    - Select TeknoParrotUI.exe in your TP folder for the "launcher to use"

    - Put --profile=Aleste.xml --startMinimized in "command to send"

    and it should work. but if the shortcut doesn't work, it won't work neither of course ;)

    Thanks but still nothing.

    Tried with full path, same the bat doesn't start Teknoparrot and Aleste.

    GameName=D:\Tate LaunchBox\Games\TeknoParrot\roms\Sensin Aleste\senxin_aleste_apm3.exe
    LauncherName=D:\Tate LaunchBox\Emulators\TeknoParrot\TeknoParrotUi.exe
    Command=--profile=Aleste.xml --startMinimized

    Sorry for the late answer.

    Does it work without ArCabview ?

    Try to make a shortcut for TeknoParrotUI.exe and put "--profile=Aleste.xml --startMinimized" at the end like that :

    Image1.jpg

    Because the game should be installed and able to run in TP before trying to use ArcCabView

    Does it works?

    Man this software rocks, been using this on all my pc games that have pixel art. Only way to play, blockiness was never a thing back in the day, we need these CRT shaders!

    I only have one issues with one or two games, have anyone tried Crimzon Clover Wolrd EXplosions? Seems to be having issues reading the exe as a second window comes and takes over. I think its confuses the process. Tried a few variation of options, but the launcher always comes with there was an issue please check ini.

    I tried to edit manually the ini manually looking at some other successful installs, but no go. Anyone had any success?

    Hi, Glad you like it that much :)

    For Crimzon Clover World Explosions I didn't find any issue :

    Why will it not find this exe ? How do you set a path ?

    Where can you find out how to set this up Properly???

    Please try to run things as it should.

    The path has to be sent to the launcher, that's nearly the only thing to do...

    There is a readme, It's not that long, to use it correctly I think you have les than 10 lines to read (it takes nearly 10 to 20" of your time, so a lot less than the time taken to post these questions and screenshots)

    Thanks for your answer, but there are not two, there are three, Fight night, marvel and sor, I already used them but it remains with the TV frame in 16:9 and the two black side bands are still visible, and that is not what I want , I want to be able to put the bezel and the tv frame in 4:3.

    photo_2023-03-12_16-59-30.jpg.4a07d11e07eab924c01e7d3913a19b23.jpg

    Same answer as the one I gave to Safur a few posts above : check the 2nd post of this thread....

    Your game appears to be centered on your screen with something like a 4:3 ratio, Right?

    So put 4:3 or the exact size (1440x1080 for example) of the display in "center locked ratio" ;)

    Again this is the very basics to use CRTGeomMOD or ArcCabView... Take the time to show the video I sent, the demo with "Xeno Fighters R" will give you many answers.
