It worked for me, so there might be something else but I fixed what I could find on my end. Can you try this new save card patch (remove the old one) and let me know if it works? If it does I will update my post above.

things to note:

after the so called big wave where 99% of all lose, theres another wave featuring another special zombie type and 2 plant food.
if you beat the wave you strangely don't get the jackpot screen so you are stuck shooting those gnomes untill you exit
(modded file will feature: x2 firing speed for all peas and super rapid fire for Gatling pea powerup.)

delete the game.ini file, and rename the game-orig.ini to game.ini
