  1. 🔹🔷 Massive News! 🔷🔹

IN A WORLD… where gaming history teeters on the brink of oblivion… One legendary machine is about to rise from the shadows…

🔹🔷 The Sega Mega Laserdisc 🔷🔹

Long thought lost… now within our reach. But to truly understand its legacy, you need to know the story of the Pioneer LaserActive — a $2,000+ technical masterpiece that only the wealthy could afford. Debuting in October 1993 to compete with the 3DO, this $700 base unit could do it all: Play music, games, karaoke, interactive software, and over 7,500 movies with unmatched picture quality. Run massive Laserdiscs — the precursor to the DVD — powering arcade legends like Dragon’s Lair and Space Ace. Use the $350 Laser Karaoke pack with mixer and mic to sing along to over 250 titles.

The system’s power came from add-on LD-ROM packs: Mega-LD Pack (with Sega): Play 8” and 12” Mega-LD discs, Sega CDs, Genesis carts, and CD+G discs. Came bundled with Pyramid Patrol and a 4-in-1 Sega classic collection (Revenge of Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Columns). LD-ROM² Pack (with NEC): Play LD-ROM² discs, NEC CD-ROM², Super CD, HuCard games, and more. Bundled with Econosaurus and a 4-in-1 Hudson Soft classic collection (Gate of Thunder, Bonk’s Adventure, Bonk’s Revenge, Bomberman). Only a handful of extra games were made — including Space Berserker, High Roller, Vajra, and Manhattan Requiem — now holy grails among collectors.

  2. Rediscover Real Fire 2 (真人火线2), a rare 2012 FMV rail shooter developed by AGLab — likely a branch of Shantou University’s Anime & Game Laboratory — and published by gamesgrow.com. This Flash-based live-action arcade shooter blends cinematic FMV missions with classic point-and-shoot gameplay. Played here with RS3 Reaper lightguns for an authentic arcade feel. This isn’t your typical browser shooter—Real Fire 2 feels like an old-school arcade cabinet experience.

    The game features:

    • Live-action FMV missions with an action-movie feel.
    • Quick target acquisition & split-second reaction challenges.
    • Score-based gameplay between cinematic cutscenes.
    • Mouse-only controls that adapt perfectly to RS3 Reaper lightguns.

Real Fire 2 captures the style of late 90s FMV shooters with the charm (and grit) of the Flash era. Originally hosted on gamesgrow.com, this obscure title now lives on thanks to game preservation efforts.

Based on the in-game credits and original hosting domain, Real Fire 2 appears to have been a project from Shantou University’s Anime & Game Laboratory (AGLab), which focused on combining animation, game design, and interactive media. This title is one of the few known FMV rail shooters produced by a university game lab in China. Originally released as a Flash browser game in 2012 via gamesgrow.com, Real Fire 2 is no longer officially hosted due to the discontinuation of Adobe Flash Player. It can still be preserved and played via Flash emulation projects.

  4. Step into the chaotic world of HIRED GUN, an indie rail shooter developed by Studio Poncho and built in Unreal Engine! Inspired by classics like Mad Dog McCree and Virtua Cop, this coin-op-style lightgun shooter delivers cool FMV style shootouts with a sleek, modern engine.

This playthrough was done using my RS3 Reaper lightgun from RetroShooter. Gameplay is all about accuracy and speed. Hit streaks boost your multiplier—don’t miss a shot!

  5. Zombie Face Ripper is a short but intense horror-themed rail shooter from the Flash era, developed by Box10. You blast your way through three haunting stages—from a zombie-infested cathedral to cryptic graveyards and foul sewers. The first-person perspective and timed reloads give it a satisfying arcade feel.

Originally built for Adobe Flash, this game is no longer playable in most modern browsers. Thankfully, it’s been preserved across sites like FlashMuseum, KBHGames, and GamesFlow. Some even offer a hacked “God Mode” version for a more casual run.

For this playthrough, I used the original .SWF file and played it through Flash Player with a reWASD layout mapped to my RS3 Reaper lightgun.

    🔹🔷 My Control Setup 🔷🔹

    • Trigger = Shoot

    • Magazine Button = Reload

    • Stock Button (Left) = Zoom

A screenshot of my reWASD control layout is included below, along with a download link for the game so you can try it yourself.

The paprium folder and bin need to both be together when loading the .bin file in retroarch and the modified .dll file needs to go into the cores folder of retroarch.

  7. How to Register the Indeo Video Codec on Windows

On Windows Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, and 10, the Indeo video codec is included but not registered by default. Follow the steps below to register it manually:

    1. Open Command Prompt:

      • Click Start -> Run...
      • Type cmd or command and click OK.
    2. Change Directory (for 64-bit Windows only):
      Enter this command:

      cd C:\Windows\SysWOW64

    3. Register the DLL:
      Run this command:

      regsvr32 ir50_32.dll

After completing these steps, the codec should be properly registered and ready to use.

    Alternative Option

I've attached an installer you can try if the steps above don't work. However, the manual method listed has worked for me. - MRG
