If you run it as it is, it will do so in a small window. Right click gdv7.exe and go to Properties>Compatibility and check "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution" to run it in fullscreen. *It's possible the game will have problems with background videos. If that's the case, try installing Pure Codec, and then go to fddshow (installed along with Pure Codec) and set MPEG2 to libavcodec. Enjoy! =================================================================================Guitar Freaks & Drummania XG2 Instructions Open the archive "Crack.zip". Extract the contents of the folder "Decrypted files" (three folders, called "dev", "modules" and "prop") into "..\K32\Contents", overwriting the existing files. Next, copy the contents of the folder "..\K32\Contents\modules" into "..\K32\Contents" Now, back in the archive "Crack.zip", extract the contents of the folder "Gitadoratools" into "..\K32\Contents", overwriting the existing files when prompted. In the "Contents" folder (..\K32\Contents), run the file "bemaniconfig.exe" in order to configure the input. Don't forget to configure the buttons under the "Gitadora - System Buttons" section. Click the Save button when you're done. After that, in this same folder, run the file "required.reg" and select Yes when prompted. This will register some COM dll files required for the game to run. Finally, run the .bat file for the game/mode you want: start_dm.bat, start_dm_window.bat, start_gf.bat or start_gf_window.bat When the game starts you'll get a "Backup Error" message. Press the button you configured as "Test" in bemaniconfig.exe to enter the Test Menu. Enter the option called "All Factory Settings" and confirm the intialization of data. Back on the test menu, select "Network Options". Set "e-Amusement" to "Off" and then choose "Save and Exit". When the game asks you to restart the machine, press the "Esc" key to close the game. After that, run the game again. These steps need to be done only once. No matter if you do them on Guitar Freaks or Drummania, once one of the games has been setup, both will work. Song Unlock: Inside the archive Crack.zip, there's a folder called "Song unlock". This folder contains a file called "game.dll". Extract this file into the Contents folder, overwriting the existing one. This will unlock all the songs in the game. Note & Troubleshooting: If you are facing network errors at startup, make sure you only have 1 network adapter enabled. To do this, press the Windows key + R and type: devmgmt.msc and press enter (you can also reach this screen on Windows 8/10 by right clicking the Windows icon in the task bar and selecting Device manager). Under Network Adapters, disable all but one. If the game keeps crashing in the same place after the previous step, run the game as admin. If you get sound errors at startup, change the audio device you are using. If videos won't load (attract screen and song videos), try the following steps: Install Pure Codec (https://mega.nz/#!gItxQSAC!SccQnKVMZwTcecyQgstvTJCoHy1OWYpROLGvlMZc_PQ) Open ffdshow Video Decoder settings (Pure Codec folder in Start menu) and in the Codecs section, change MPEG2 codec from "disabled" to "libavcodec" and apply the changes. Open command prompt as admin, navigate to the Contents folder of the game and type: regsvr32 CLVSD.ax This should fix the crashes and video load problems. NOTES: if you have already registered the CLVSD.ax file (from another game), you don't need to do it again. Also, note this file is 480KB. There is another version of the file that's 866KB. This last file also works fine with XG2, however, it doesn't work with older games (V4, V5, V6). Keep this in mind if you plan to play the older games on the same PC. Confirm the initialization of data and, when it finishes, press the start button to return to the main screen and then press the exit button. Run the game again and this time, the game will tell you to configure the shop name. Enter any character you want and select a prefecture in the second option. After that, select "Save and Exit". Return to the home menu by selecting "Exit". Enter "Network Option" and disable E-Amusement. Select "Save and Exit". The game will tell you to reboot the machine. Thanks to him, Guitar Freaks & Drummania XG3 is playable for the first time, since it was released 7 years ago. He decrypted all required files and added support for XG3 to Spicetools. Instructions Download Spicetools from: https://onlyone.cab/downloads/spicetools-latest.zip Open spicetools-latest.zip and extract spice.exe and spicecfg.exe into the L32 folder. Use spicecfg.exe to configure the input for both games (Guitar Freaks and Drummania) as well as the system input (Test and Service buttons) Copy the contents of the modules folder into L32 folder (where spice.exe is). Inside the L32 folder, right click on an empty space of the window while holding the shift key, and select "Open command window here" Type the following command to start the game: Drummania: spice -e .\prop\eamuse-config.xml Guitar Freaks: spice -e .\prop\eamuse-config2.xml During startup, the game will throw a Backup Data Error. Press the test button when this message appears, to access the test menu and enter the option called "All Factory Settings". Confirm the initialization of data and, when it finishes, press the start button to return to the main screen. Next, enter "Network Options" and disable E-Amusement. Select "Save and Exit". The game will tell you to reboot the machine. Just close the game and run it again. These steps are only needed once. No matter which game you run first, once the system has been configured, both games are ready to be played (since they use the same files) In the link, there's also an archive file called Extra.zip. Extract the file called game.dll to the L32 folder, overwriting the existing one. This file unlocks all songs in the game. Troubleshooting: If you are facing network errors at startup, make sure you only have 1 network adapter enabled. To do this, press the Windows key + R and type: devmgmt.msc and press enter (you can also reach this screen on Windows 8/10 by right clicking the Windows icon in the task bar and selecting Device manager) Under Network Adapters, disable all but one. If you get sound errors at startup, change the audio device you are using. The game needs a video codec installed in order to show background videos: Install Pure Codec (https://mega.nz/#!gItxQSAC!SccQnKVMZwTcecyQgstvTJCoHy1OWYpROLGvlMZc_PQ) Open ffdshow Video Decoder settings (Pure Codec folder in Start menu) and in the Codecs section, change MPEG2 codec from "disabled" to "libavcodec" and apply the changes. In the archive Extra.zip, there's a file called CLVSD.ax. Extract it to the L32 folder (where spice.exe is). Open command prompt as admin, navigate to the L32 folder and type: regsvr32 CLVSD.ax This should fix the video load problems. NOTES: if you have already registered the CLVSD.ax file (from another game), you don't need to do it again. Also, note this file is 480KB. There is another version of the file that's 866KB. DOWNLOAD https://mega.nz/#F!5QNUFagA!dW0m3PU1npPgx2mdVqQU7Q ================================================================================== Guitar Freaks & Drummania V8 Thanks to a person who rather remain anonymous, Guitar Freaks & Drummania V8 is finally playable. This person finally decrypted the required game files for the game to run, a task nobody else wanted to undergo in all these past 8 years. For this game, you will be using Gitadoratools (don't confuse it with Spicetools. They are different programs) Extract the game from the split archive and then open Crack.zip. Extract the contents of the folder "v8tools" into the "bin" folder. Go into the "bin" folder and run the file "required.reg". This will register some COM dll files required for the game to run. Open "bemaniconfig.exe" and configure the controls (the effect button for the guitar doesn't work for the V series. It will only work with Gitadora) After that, run one of the .bat files to start the game (start_dm, start_dm_window, start_gf, start_gf_window) During startup, the game will throw an error message in Japanese (can't reach router). Press the test button to access the test menu and enter the option called "Network Options" and disable E-Amusement. Select "Save and Exit". The game will tell you to reboot the machine. Just close the game and run it again. It should work fine now. In the archive Crack.zip, there is also a folder named "Song Unlock". Extract the contents (a file named "game.dll") into the "bin" folder, and overwrite the existing one to unlock all songs. If the game keeps crashing in the same place after the previous step, run the game as admin. If you get sound errors at startup, change the audio device you are using. I don't know if this last file works with V8. If it doesn't, unregister it and register the included one. The game requires you to have both, an E: and F: drives for storing some game files (it will create the folders CONF, CACHE and TMP in them). If you don't have them, you can easily create them following a tutorial on the internet. Those partitions don't have to be big (I think two 50MB partition will be more than enough) so you won't lose a lot of space from your main one. Since the effect button for the V series of Guitar Freaks doesn't work in Gitadoratools, if you want to change the song wheel sorting (which usually is GREEN + EFFECT), you can use the following alternative: press RED, GREEN, BLUE, PICK. Copy crack bin folder and overwrite empty bin folder I run config gf.bat to edit controls for Guitar. Run the start gf.bat It loads but when it gets to Network I get - - in red. Wait 20-30 seconds. Kobe46
Thanks, I was able to get further with some of the suggestions from the 1cc, though I seem to be having the same issue as the one person where they had to spam 1P or 2P Start button when the Warning scene shows up, or else it freezes. I also have the same issue with the video running faster, almost 2x faster than normal speed. Other than that, I was able to load it up and it runs now. On 9/8/2019 at 6:01 AM, fire10 said: I am having the same problem, any ideas on a fix guys. Sad 1cc is gone maybe there were instructions on there too Let me know if you are still having the same issue. How I got past it was, I disconnected my Ethernet cable. Ran it again but then got a Network error. This allowed me to hit the Test button and get into the service menu. Went to Network > disabled eAmusement then saved and exit. I reconnected my network cable and it worked, except for the whole tap 1P or 2P Start button when the Warning screen shows up, so I can start the game. Please let me know if you still need assistance to at least run the game. If you get past the Warning screen, then tell me what you did heh. As that does not work with me. Max Panda
Anyone get the XG2 HDD to work yet? I've tried running it using the same method to run other Bemani HDD - disable network interfaces, run "EA local server", etc. but all I get is a black screen for a few seconds and then it exits with no error messages. I can run other fairly recent Bemani HDD such Popn 24/25, Beatmania IIDX Sinobuz, SDVX IV, etc. just fine but having trouble with XG2.

To do this, press the Windows key + R and type: devmgmt.msc and press enter (you can also reach this screen on Windows 8/10 by right clicking the Windows icon in the task bar and selecting Device manager) Under Network Adapters, disable all but one. *If you get sound errors at startup, change the audio device you are using. Bluetooth devices and HDMI audio don't seem to work. *If you get a crash during the boot sequence, try the following steps: Install Pure Codec (https://mega.nz/#!gItxQSAC!SccQnKVMZwTcecyQgstvTJCoHy1OWYpROLGvlMZc_PQ) Open ffdshow Video Decoder settings (Pure Codec folder in Start menu) and in the Codecs section, change MPEG2 codec from "disabled" to "libavcodec" and apply the changes. Open command prompt as admin, navigate to the bin folder of the game and type: regsvr32 CLVSD.ax This should fix the crashes and video load problems. NOTES: if you have already registered the CLVSD.ax file (from another game), you don't need to do it again. Also, note this file is 480KB. There is another version of the file that's 866KB. This last file won't work with V5. If you have that one registered, unregister it and register the 480KB one from this release. spiderzsoft
Guitar Freaks & Drummania V6 Instructions Copy the contents of Crack.zip to the same folder where the "data" folder is. Open command prompt as admin, navigate to the "bin" folder of the game and type the command: Drummania: gdv6 -d Guitar Freaks: gdv6 -g During startup, the game will throw a Backup Data Error message and a second error in Japanese (can't reach router). Press the test button when both of these messages appear, to access the test menu and enter the option called "All Factory Settings". Confirm the initialization of data and, when it finishes, press the start button to return to the main screen. Next, enter "Network Options" and disable E-Amusement. Select "Save and Exit". The game will tell you to reboot the machine. Just close the game and run it again. It should work fine now. Troubleshooting: The game runs at 640 x 480. If you run it as it is, it will do so in a small window. Right click gdv6.exe, go to Properties>Compatibility and check "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution" to run it in fullscreen. spiderzsoft
Guitar Freaks & Drummania GX3 Before starting with the instructions, I'd like to give credit to Spicetools dev, Felix. This last file also works fine with XG3. Max Panda
Thanks for the upload & instructions for XG3 - I was able to get this up and running following the instructions provided. Couple questions if anyone knows the answer: 1) I have the HDD for XG2 & ExChain downloaded but haven't been able to get these to run. Tried using the instructions provided here for XG3 but no luck - also tried other things based on info I found elsewhere using something called "gitadoratools", etc. but no luck either. Anyone have working instructions for either of these? 2) Also, I was wondering if XG3 had any of the long/extended version songs from the GF/DM/GitaDora songs in there and if there's some way to access those from the HDD rip. I did use the game.dll to unlock songs but still don't see any long/extened versions in there so was curious if this version had those. Thanks. To run Exchain, you have to repeat the same steps for XG3. You have to make sure there's a dev folder though where the prop, modules and data folders are. The dev folder must contain 2 more folders inside: nvram and raw. Inside nvram there should be 2 files: coin.xml and eacoin.xml (if I remember correctly) If those files aren't there, you can copy them from prop folder. You also need spice64.exe, unlike XG3 which uses spice.exe (both of them are avaialble in the spicetools archive) After that, open a command prompt like you would in XG3 but type this instead: Drummania: spice64.exe -ea -2ch -v .\prop\avs-config-jb.xml -e .\prop\eamuse-config.xml Guitar Freaks: spice64.exe -ea -2ch -v .\prop\avs-config-ja.xml -e .\prop\eamuse-config2.xml Also, spice64.exe and the files you have to copy from modules folder go into the content folders, not into M32. For XG2, go with gitadoratools since the included crack is old and doesn't work well and spicetools doesn't support it yet. I haven't tried it yet but it should be similar to XG3. As for the long songs, they were removed from XG3. Since they removed Classic mode, only songs converted to the new format remained and they didn't convert any long song. XG doesn't add new long song either. Edited November 28, 2019 by Deniii

My [dev] folder does have the [nvram] folder with the 2 files you metioned instide (coin.xml & eacoin.xml) along w/ some other files. However, my [dev] folder *did not* have the [raw] folder in there. I tried running it again after just manually creating an empty folder in there named "raw" but that did not appear to fix it. Am I supposed to copy files from some other location into the [raw] folder ? Do I need to use anything from "bemanitools" or "gitadoratools" for ExChain or is spicetools all that should be needed for this? Thanks again. Go to the contents folder (where spice64.exe is) and look for a log file. Open it (it's a text file) and go to the end. Start reading it from bottom to top. It's likely you will find the cause for the crash in that file. If you can't find it, attach the file in a reply and I'll give it a look. The raw folder is filled with data created by the game so it's normal for it to be empty the first time (if the folder isn't there, the game also creates it)
Max Panda
Thanks Denii, been trying to get ExChain running w/ no luck yet. Looked thru the log file as you suggested and see some repeating messages that seem to reference an "unknown: path:" for "ea3-coin" but not sure what that means or if that's even the source of the issue. Tried running in both full screen and windowed w/ same results. I've attached the log file here. Would appreciate if you could check it out when u got time to see if something stands out to you as the possible issue. Deniii
@Max Panda Just out of curiosity, what OS and hardware are you using? The problem could be related to that. I also attached a .zip file with my dev and prop folders. Give these a try (don't merge them with yours, move the existing folders somewhere else and then use the attached ones) When you run the game, you are not using EA Local Server or any program like that, right? I've seen cases of people using the -ea argument along with Ea Local Server and having problems on various games. They did that because they were used to using it along with BemaniTools which does need it. The -ea argument emulates the server in offline mode, there's no need for an external program. Other than that, I have no idea what the problem could be. folders.zip

Thanks again for all your help with this one - much appreciated.
Deniii
Good thing you got it to work. I'm curious what was wrong with your prop and dev folders. If you want, you can open the files from your folders and mine with a text editor and see what's different. It might give you a clue on how to fix any issues you might encounter later with future Gitadora games or others. To access all songs, including long ones, there are 3 things you can do: 1- Mod game.dll (currently, Mon's online patcher doesn't have the hex edits for Exchain) 2- Use Gitadorahax 3- Connect to a private network Unless you can figure out the hex edits on your own, the only choice is number 2 for offline play and number 3 for online play. If you want to use Gitadorahax, unzip it from the file I attached into the contents folder and edit gitadorahax.xml with a text editor. You will find the following line: <all_music __type="bool">0</all_music> Just change that 0 for a 1 and save the changes. When you want to start the game, you have to add another argument to Spicetools: -k gitadorahax.dll So, the complete command would be: spice64 -ea -2ch -e .\prop\eamuse-config2.xml -k gitadorahax.dll As for saving scores (or unlocking all songs without using a hex edit or Gitadorahax), you will have to be part of a private network. Getting access to these is not easy. You have to be invited by someone who's already a member and begging for an invite is a surefire way to never get one. If you mingle with the community, one day, someone will offer you one. gitadorahax.zip

Another helpful soul here actually provided me with a modified mdb_ex.xml file (to replace original) that unlocked all the songs (including long versions) for me ; is this related somehow to the methods you provided (hex edits, gitadorahax) ? As for saving, I was hoping someone had figured out an offline saving method like the one I use for IIDX Sinobuz. Out of curiosity, do you happen to know offhand some of the other Bemani HDD out there that currently have an offline saving method available (like Sinobuz). Anyway, thanks again. Deniii
Yes, modding the .xml is also valid. I always forget about it. I'd rather use Gitadorahax since it mods the ram values instead of modding the actual files. As for offline servers, I don't know of any for Gitadora. As for other games, there's one for Sound Voltex called xrpc (I think) and one for DDR called Butterfly (again, I think) I don't play these games so I'm not sure how they work or if these server emulators support more games. spiderzsoft
Guitar Freaks & Drummania V8 Thanks to a person who rather remain anonymous, Guitar Freaks & Drummania V8 is finally playable. If the game keeps crashing in the same place after the previous step, run the game as admin. If you get sound errors at startup, change the audio device you are using. If you get a crash during initialization, try the following steps: Install Pure Codec (https://mega.nz/#!gItxQSAC!SccQnKVMZwTcecyQgstvTJCoHy1OWYpROLGvlMZc_PQ) Open ffdshow Video Decoder settings (Pure Codec folder in Start menu) and in the Codecs section, change MPEG2 codec from "disabled" to "libavcodec" and apply the changes.
