now everything should work fine :)

PS: I made some big progress recently with PinCabView releases and CRTGeomMODv4 should be released soon :)

(I have nearly rewritten the full shader to improve performances, allow some new features and to fix some old issues.

It will be probably named "CabView" from now because it will be really more than a simple CRT effect shader: Now the goal is really to get a complete solution to display everything as you want, including PC games, ArcadePC games, Emulators and also Pinball games)

can you do the same for elevator action death parade?

I just checked, "Elevator action death parade" is the same as the Nesica one?

Because if this is the Nesica version there is already a config file available for this game from april 2020 in CRTGeomMOD Mediafire folder ;)

Thanks Houb! Alpine Racer works perfectly now with minimal added files. THIS is the best way to play the game.

You don't even need to disable jconfig wrapper. I turned off the "background" as just black bars are always better than some bright, distracting logo bezel. ;)

did you check the screenshot??

you can set any ratio, with the menu (for the screen and game) or the "aspect ratio" sliders...

just push "home" key, ingame and you will get the options to set everything as you want...

CRTGeomMOD can resize any game as you want, you can force the game to any resolution, set the ratio, the orientation, put a bezel, a background, a frame,... and also a CRT effect (if you want) in live, in a few seconds... I never understood why you never use it to do that. for my part I use it with nearly all my games, PC, Arcade and also emu....

orgive me but i dont find this HOME key  on keyboard to set the game

JConfig's Direct3D9 wrapper should be enabled and set to 720x1280 (better without DX Window Mode)

Don't use GameLoaderAllRH with this config (most likely it won't work)

What are the possibilities to check and see if there is anything being rendered to the left and right?

Dont they call that "overscan" or something on N64 widescreen mods?

" (also as usual jconfig's DirectX wrapper should be disabled) "

That was the trick.

Running BEAUTIFULLY.

And its the same RawThrills fantasy track goodness.

I'll probably just be forced to play this through a "slit", if thats all that can be done..

But let me fool around with these neato CRTGeomMOD settings.

Merci.

Edit: "you can set any ratio, with the menu (for the screen and game) or the "aspect ratio" sliders...

That home button works.

You can play around with it.

Maybe a little stretching and cropping.

I'm not sure to understand.

- For Super Alpine Racer everything should be ok : the image is fully displayed and the background is below the game display. so nothing can be hiden.

- For Elevator Action, the game is rendered in 720x1280 at this time and diplayed using the same ratio so everything should be ok too. (for me the videos ingame don't work, but it doesn't work even without the mod)

The setting "test1" posted is using a bezel above the display but you can remove the bezel by unchecking the option in Reshade's UI ("off bezel" in Arts advanced options), there is also a background bellow the display.

for this one the game isn't really stretched (just stretched to the full screen size but with ratio kept) in fact the "9/16 centered locked ratio" is just to catch the game area. So nothing should be missing too.

For both game you can change the ratio using "Aspect ratio" sliders or "Game Ratio" menu in ReShade's UI :)

Edit: for information I just updated the Elevator action config posted just above, it should be a little better but the changes are very small so it's still "test1", please keep me informed if everything works as it should ;) )

On some games like Thief 3, and some N64 games and some PS2 games like ICO, there is actually more screen area being rendered that can be accessed through emulators, becasue its just being cropped off to fit television screens.

Its similar to how open-matte movies actually have more screen footage then some "widescreen" versions, becasue the widescreen version is just cropped.

There might not be. Its not on all games. You would get more performance by not rendering things that you dont see.

Another solution would be to crop the top and bottom myself, to create a widescreen space without (or with minimal) stretching.

I'm playing around with the "Home button" settings right now.

Thanks again.

Edit, IT WORKS.

You can totally make a fake/cropped widescreen.

Open up the home button,

I set "resized method used by the game" to 1:1 locked from center.

Then use the first slider on the LEFT directly beneath "resized advanced settings",

to stretch the screen from left to right.

Then use the slider to the right of that, to crop off the top and bottom of the image.

Until you get an image that you can tolerate. You can keep cropping until its no longer stretched.

It will chop off "press start" and select screen GUI details at the top and bottom.

But you can select one of three tracks without that. :)

Its a fake zoomed in-cropped widescreen.

A fullsized keyboard has a "HOME" button.

You dont always see one on Laptops.

It should be over on the right somewhere?

Before or around the numberpad?

But it really could be anywhere.

On a row of keys on the left?

It could be an alt+combination?

screenshot.8.jpg

screenshot.9.jpg

screenshot.2.jpg

screenshot.6.jpg

You can keep going on the left and right to the edge of teh screen,

but it will pull you in closer to the POV and clip off more top and bottom.

This seemed like the best comprimise IMO.

" I set "resized method used by the game" to 1:1 locked from center. "

I'm still playing around with it. Setting that to 16:9 might actually be better.

The trick IMO is getting a good behind the player distance.

And then see how much screen you can get.
