the following files in case you want to return it to Japanese language:

1. RIVAL_DATA.ini

2. utf8_jp_RIVAL_DATA.ini

3. utf8_jp_COURSE_DATA.ini

What the files affect in game

I hope that this tutorial helps other people out.

It takes you a few moments to read, but it took me all night to figure it out.

When you get the game working, thanks to this "manual", please give a thanks at this post.

:very-good:

And a BIG thanks for the people who originally uploaded the games, we all can enjoy (if you do it right) !!!

And of course all the people involved in, the game loaders and JVS I/O emulation applications we use, and all the people I "forgot".

Also look at the posts below, some members / people add helpful information, thank them also .....

Hi!

Thanks lnglang for all this information put together! For your next tutos, maybe you could help us even more by pointing where to put the different files?

id6_dump_.exe goes to .\id6

Shaders (AMD GPU FIX) go to .\id6\data\V5SHADER (where you have to replace the files with those from the zip file)

I did not have to use the "correct error card file" because it goes away when playing... I would not know where to put it anyway.

Anyone having issue with the analog controls? Analog stick behaves like it is digital here. Checking "xinput" or not in TP changes nothing.

Any clue?

@Y0uh0u

What kind / brand / type of controller do you use ?

DInput / XInput ?

I got this controller, which can switch between DInput and XInput mode.

Logitech F710

Logitech-F710-Gamepad3-1.jpg

I use TP 1.92 with InitialDLauncher.

https://www.patreon.com/posts/initiald-arcade-16661248

Just tested it works fine for me.

So you know, ID4 / ID5 are Lindbergh games, sound is buggy, and steering is twitchy.

@linglang

Hi and thanks for your answer.

The Dlauncher will change nothing for me since its purpose is to "insert a card", so no way it's going to make analog controls better.

And I confirm the test mode white screen on AMD card (I wish I would have been able to calibrate my controller there) ! I tried pairing T.P. with All RH just in case but, then, accessing test mode crashes the game. I think my issue could find its solution there.

But your controller interests me a lot! As Dpad is really important to me, could you tell me how yours feel? Can you compare it to other known dpads (xbox 360, playstation, etc.)? Mine is a xbox 360 wired controller. Works fine most of the time.

As always, thank you for your time and have a nice day!

@Y0uh0u

The joystick is excellent, build quality, button feeling, ergonomics, weight, but it is all a personal preference.

Battery life is good, range also.

Shape is comparable to a Playstation 3 controller, but a bit bigger, more sturdy, a bit more heft / weight.

But a bit smaller than a 360 controller.

Rumble function is more powerful.

One can switch with a button press when the left Dpad (digital) or left stick (analog) works as steering.

A wireless Xbox 360 controller is a little bit bigger, but even so lighter, with batteries, not much difference in weight.

A Playstation 3 controller is small and light, more made for small, kids hands.

The Dpad, feels good, a bit raised as with a 360 controller, nicer grip, better separation between directions, but also rolls good around.

Light feeling of bumps / clicks between directions (separation), but works very good.

Compared to almost new PS3 or 360 controller ?

Those PS3 / 360 D-pads are feeling numb, mushy.

When one has multiple of these joysticks, one has to remove the USB receiver of the joystick which one does NOT want to pair.

And the batteries from the joystick one NOT does want to pair.

So not to confuse the pairing software procedure.

One has to do that procedure for both joysticks on one system, separately, only then sees Window$ two separate joysticks inputs !

Sticks on the joystick drift to one side ?

Recalibrate, I only had to do it once.

As far as i can remember ...... to recalibrate a Logitech F710 joystick.

1. Remove batteries.

2. Press and hold LB and LT button, insert batteries, but do not touch the analog sticks.

After a few seconds it should be recalibrated, release LB and LT buttons, try.

You could try to run the Initial D games with a older version of Teknoparrot, 1.92 as suggested, if needed in combination with Dlauncher.

Sometimes updates in TP break working games. (not often)

Have a nice day.

@suprabot

Your monitor at what frequency does it run ?

Hz / FPS is probably to high, set it for this game to 60 Hz / FPS

Vsync should do that fine

Another option.

thanks for the answer but it change nothing....

@suprabot

Hi!

I didn't have to do it myself for this particular game, but maybe could you try using Game Loader All RH and it's frame limiter (loader mode -1), in conjonction with tecknoparrot, in order to resolve this issue?

It could look a little bit tricky if you are not used to it but it might work. My advice would be to follow the excellent tutorial Ling Lang did for virtua fighter 5C first then look into Game Loader All RH to change the loader option to -1 (or ensure it is there by default). At the end, don't forget to set game settings to "window" and not fullscreen on the tecknoparrot side.

Hope this helps!

Have a nice day!

 I do not know why My initial D6 and initial D7 can't display minimap

At what resolution ?

Some resolutions make the game look weird

Run ID Zero at 1920x1200 and the map is huge in the middle of the screen

Om AMD ?

Look here you are not the only one with this problem

Here the AMD shader fix for ID 4 - 8

以什么分辨率?

一些分辨率使游戏看起来很奇怪

在1920x1200上运行ID为零,地图在屏幕中间非常大

关于AMD?

看这里,您不是唯一遇到此问题的人

Thank you, the mini map is ok! AMD bug

Still have a question ----  I use the XboxOne controller to play the initial D, but it wo n’t respond after playing for a while~~

No idea

It happens only with InitialD games ?

Power saving of the joystick or something like that ?

I only installed the initial D ~~ initial D6 D7 D8

Wired connection !  XboxOne controller

I think it's Teknoparrot's problem.

I've tried several versions of TeknoParrot (1.90 / 1.00112 / 1.00227) and the same problem occurs. I don't know how to solve?

Thank you again for your help !!! :):)

Why not Initial D 4, 5 and Zero ?

I have no idea how to solve this.

Try another joystick ?

Xbox 360 controller ?
