Sorry I won't have time for this.

At the moment my personnal goal is to redo what was too "personnal" to get a 100% respectful set of textures (hmm 95% lol).

This has been requested and I enjoy the challenge a lot

I'm actually working on the Hornet's HD dashboard :)

I have a nother question.

Virtua Striker will be able to change textures?

A dream to change the full kit, flag and team name one day.

Yes of course, all the Model 2 games are retexturizable :)

 

If you want to start a project,

- Open the game with model 2 emu 1.1a in windowed mode then go to the option "Game" / "Dump texture cache".

- Repeat this at different moments of the game, to make sure you dump all the textures.

- Close (or not) the game.

- Open the TEXCACHE folder.

- With the .PNGs found in the folder you can start to create a .pat file (my DAYTONA.PAT file should be a good tutorial).

- To locate some difficult textures I used to paint them in green then looked for a green texture ingame (long task).

- Then internet + Photoshop, photoshop, photoshop, ... (looooong task).

 

... but as SUPERMODEL allows to play VS2 perfectly, I personnally won't touch Virtua Striker.

 

PS : je t'ai vu poster en français dans la shoutbox, alors n'hésite pas si tu es français à communiquer en french !

J'ai posté en anglais simplement parce que je n'avais pas réalisé au début que le forum était francophone lol.

Redone since the last release :

- All the Hornet HD textures + Stickers + Dashboard
- All the original boards/posters/flags in HD (all circuits)
- The casino elements + the trees in the background (Beginner circuit)
- Circuit Selection icons
- GAME OVER & GOAL letters
- The boats
- Graffitis in Expert circuit "You Can't Be Satisfied Without It... SEGA Model 2"
- Accurate road borders (all circuits)
- Walls & mountains textures to make them perfectly seamless
- Tunnel in advanced circuit

A little more to do but I'm close to the end (respectful HD pack)
Of course I'll say when I release it !!

All the textures are created.

I'm now polishing the delails, it makes a difference even if a player doesn't pay attention during a race...

Une remarque m'a été faite car ma texture pour les pneus était une texture pour route mouillée. J'ai donc modifié cette texture (pneus sans rainure à forte adhérence) ainsi que celle des jantes pour me rapprocher encore du visuel original :).

Yes I have 100% finished !

But at the moment real life is complicated (a lot of work, children... It's not easy everyday for a divorced guy).

I still need to clean up the pack (Delete non-used work, rename the textures "DU_xxx_xxx.png" (For Sega Rally it will be "SG_xxx_xxx.png"))

 

I'll release it as soon as possible...

As promised I have posted a few HD textures on Deviant Art, in the original resolution I used when I created them on Photoshop (The Dashboad in 8192x2048, the hornet logo in 4096x4096, etc...)

I just tested today the Sega Racing Classics which is lol just Daytona 1.

The game looks weird.

Just some thought...
Is it possible to bring stf999´s custom edit version on Teknoparrot ? 

Cause it looks so awesome. I hope some day will all SEGA Classic Racing Games join TP

Hi Fulgore18 !

I have been able to replace the textures in Model2 emu because ElSemi (the emu author) included a tool to dump them and to replace them.

My job has only been creating the new replacement textures (after having dumped the original + having idendified them all) and the pat files.

A skilled hacker could now use my textures on Sega Racing Classic if interested (I personnally have no skill for that).

What do you mean ? (In your video the HD texture pack is not applied, in my video you easily see the difference) ;)

If you talk about my HD textures for Delta & Celica in Sega Rally, I haven't released them atm.

OK,  maybe have you thought that I updated my 2019 links (as you quote my 1st post)... It's not the case !!

I just wanted recently to post pictures of my HD Sega Rally cars (4 posts above). As it's my thread I show my work in progress here.

Fantastic work stf999!

 

I've been trying it today and loving it.. but I'm experiencing a problem. I'm getting an artifact on the car shadows, the traffic window and on the fence, they should normally be this kind of mesh/transparent texture, but it's artifacting and showing a white polygon instead. Attaching screenshot. It only happens in certain areas, in the beginner circuit it happens most notably near the pit entrance, but there are other two shorter instances elsewhere.

 

I've tried modifying most of the options in the INI file and also on Nvidia's control panel, but no success. Any thoughts?

I suppose nothing can be done to solve it. Sorry !

Most users (me included) have these mesh/transparent polygons disappearing instead of getting them white so it can be played with no real problem. (I'm personnally using a GTX-1070, win10, and haven't updated my NVidia drivers for a long time)

The use of shaders brings this bad effect.

Using only the "Mode_0" shader eliminates this but, except for the cars, all my other textures will be killed.

Maybe new driver updates could give this effect ?...

The pack had been tested on about 30 different PCs around me before release so I really don't know what I could do...

I'm having trouble with other cars flashing on and off whilst racing. The cars in the distance appear to flash / disappear whilst everything else is OK. Anyone seen this? Doesn't happen with Daytona ++ texture pack. I'm using GTX970 so maybe a Nvidia thing?

I never heard of this problem before...

The only problem people met was textures not appearing because of the use of an empty shader file that worked for me.
For this particular case,
the solution is to edit the .pat files with a text editor and replace (with the replacement tool) all the "14 DU_" by "3 DU_" (replace the 14 value by 3).
I wanted to edit a new shader file and make a new release but never could because of personal life problems... Sorry !!! ;)
